Hi, I'm Gary. I used to work in the Gastropub industry and enjoy going to lots of different pubs/restaurants and trying out their food. Come and join me on my adventure around the UK and beyond.
Please send me some of your best (or worst) recommendations so I can travel down and give you my review.
I'm always available at contact@garyeats.com if you wish to contact me or send me any recommendations.
Hi Gary, The Bill’s restaurant I went to is just down the road from the Sherlock Holmes Museum in Baker Street. I thought it was a beautiful restaurant and very stylish. Thanks Alan 😊
First things first brilliant review once again I must say I seemed to have a very similar experience to you in bills in that everything was just very average and the mark of 5 is one that I would definitely agree with the quality was just not there but yes great review once again lads well done lads hopefully you will have better luck with the next one
Been quite a few times. Never great, usually fine - BUT they are one of the few places that are very reliable when it comes to gluten free food and as my daughters coeliac it’s a godsend and we thank them for that 🙏
I hate these rubbish chains, Gary. If I want to eat terrible food badly presented with even worse service I’d stay at home and get the wife to cook. Only joking! 😐 Cheers, mate!
ANY curry house worth their salt will have their employees watch you eat their Phaal, sometimes the chef will also come and watch depending on how busy they are. If you buy their Phaal and none of the employees watch then it’s not a good restaurant and the tradition is lost imo.
I know you make your living from the adverts, but I had 4 lots of 20 second each double advert breaks & that just puts me off wanting to keep watching your videos unfortunately...
Here in America if you don't leave a tip you are ashamed big time if you don't have money for a tip don't go out and eat is what they say and it has to be a big tip if you leave $2 don't go back there they will mess with your food only at restaurants when you sit down and eat
Never been to Bills so thanks Gary I know I have missed nothing. Starter looked ok but as you say was not good. The chicken portion looked meagre and the salad sad. As for the dried up burger ,nasty. Sorry you had to suffer such a rubbish meal.
Absolutely agree with you I've been the one in Liverpool twice, great location, which seems to be a very deliberate tactic. As other branches are the sane Overrated! You're right
Fair play to JC, for all his faults and detractors, the fact that he is supporting locally, home grown produce, food and beverages is to be appluaded. Home grown produce will always be a bit more expensive but the quality is worth the extra. Lets face it that sausage roll bares no remblance to greggs lmao in fact it would look exactly like the photograph unlike most things sold.
Apologies for multi comments. I have to say if the person who served you had been proactive they might've said 'are you sure you want to sit out here as there are ongoing construction works?' Poor show, and the waiting ..... you were right to ditch the service charge.
I would love a crispy pork belly, a chickpea and lentil stew or a juicy scrambled egg with smoked salmon on top, also yummy😋 is tuna, sour cream, sweetcorn and avocado.
I went for a trial shift once at Bills for this Chef job and everything was made in-house all sauses and quite a lot of the other stuff also but don't know if that is still the case or not. But yes have to agree your food looked very average and as for the burger looked dryer than a Nuns downstairs department lol
