This is a very misleading presentation. Most people on antidepressants do not have nutritional deficiencies. The main issue with coming off these medications is that your brain has adapted to the abnormal levels of chemicals they produce. The only way to avoid severe withdrawal symptoms is to come off slowly enough to allow your brain to re-adapt to the drug not being there. The last few milligrams are the hardest and so need to be done the slowest. Dr G's idea that you can 'replace' the serotonin that your system is missing from being on the drugs means that you are simply swapping a drug that increases serotonin for a supplement that does something similar (e.g. 5HTP). Now you are dependent on the supplement not the antidepressant. For some that might be preferable but it is a Faustian bargain: you have done the same as getting off wine by drinking beer instead. I have also seen many people who have gotten into trouble with multiple supplements which interact with the withdrawal process and make it harder. I think Dr G should do less laughing at others and read some of the latest research on the topic. I sincerely hope that people are not fooled by this presentation into thinking there is a magic bullet to getting off long-term antidepressants more quickly than your body can tolerate.

This video is so informative, thank you! I’ve had eczema since childhood, and it flared up really bad last year. I found relief after using Planet Ayurveda’s herbal supplements. My skin has calmed down, and I haven’t experienced those intense itching sessions lately. If anyone has eczema, I highly suggest giving their herbal remedies a shot!

This woman talks really fast for someone who has moderate to severe hearing loss. She provided a lot of helpful information. Some of her explanations were too techy. I ignored the parts of her talk when she was using a lot of technical information. Then I tuned into the parts that were easy to understand because she used normal conversational speech.

You are what you eat. Your diet impacts your health. Lower stress, reduce obesity, get enough sleep and more exercise are key to a healthy life. Obesity in children and adults is rising across the world. Fast food and sugary drinks including fruit juices are contributing to the problem of poor health and obesity. Eat a healthy plant based diet and exercise regularly. Reduce or ELIMINATE cows milk, eggs, cheese and meat. Eat more salad greens, beans, fruit and vegetables. Eliminate fast food, snacks like cookies, cakes, chips, and sugary drinks and juices. Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Regular exercise will help you sleep better. Yoga is a great stress reducer. Obesity is all too common today. Get off the couch. Get off the phone, ipad or video game. A variety of stretching and other exercises help with increased mobility. Ride to work, ride to school, ride for fun. Every city should be a bicycle city. Speak up for bicycles in your community

Daily exercise is key to as healthy life. Ride a bicycle to school, work or for fun. Riding a bicycle is a great way to exercise. Ebikes are bringing many older adults back to cycling. Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles. Safe protected bike lanes and trails are needed so adults and children can ride safely. Speak up for bicycles in your community. Bicycles make life and cities better. Ask your local transportation planner and elected officials to support more protected bike lanes and trails. Children should be riding a bicycle to school and not be driven in a minivan. Be healthier and happier. Ride a bicycle regularly. Make a bicycle your transportation option for short distance travel.

Most elderly people have problems getting up off the floor. As a child you spend a lot of time on the floor, adults do not. Doing yoga / stretching exercises on the floor can improve balance, mobility, flexibility and the ability to get up and down.. Just getting up and down to the floor in a controlled manner is difficult for many older adults. Play with your children on the floor. Bend over, get down and pull weeds in your garden. Play with a pet on the floor. The more effort you make to work on balance and flexibility will pay dividends as you age.

WOW, amazing presentation. I developed severe Gastro symptoms after being over treated with antibiotics for a chronic flu which was CFS turned into fibromyalgia and also over treated with antibiotics for interstitial cystitis. This was in the mid 90s in the next five years I had several stool tests. But no one really explained everything they just told me howHorrible my tests were, one showed proteo Vulgaris, Dr suggested Cipro which got me to the place I was in. What a bad recommendation is only other option was grapeseed which made me break out and I usually don’t have bad reaction to supplements. Low and behold I now have methane Sibo Treating that with antimicrobials. I’m doing it on my own because I am so frustrated with the functional medicine doctors I have seen even since when I first got sick. Thousands of dollars down the tubes. Can you please please please tell me Which probiotic you would suggest for chronic constipation since childhood. Also had a lot of antibiotics as a kid. I have tried so many but usually over-the-counter health food stores. I would be so appreciative if you could tell me what you use to help The microbio grow to increase the migrating motor complex, bowel movements. Thank you so much.

Good information. However, It’s important to include BHRT consideration for menopause. Absolutely crucial to every conversation about menopause. We have all the data. No amount of micronutrients or lifestyle can optimize hormonal loss.

Excellent presentation, thank you. For balance, don't forget ruminant beef has high levels of arginine, the precursor to nitric oxide. As a 66 year old "carnivore" sports coach with zero veg and just a few blueberries occasionally my NO is in the optimal range as is blood pressure, exercise performance, heart rate etc. Apparently NO decreases rapidly with age however mine is way up in middle range.

Very thorough presentation. You touched on a lot of my symptoms. I took antibiotics and the breath test came back negative. I started feeling better but have not gone back to how I felt before my GI issues.

how about a question? My name is Sue, I am 69 yeas old , went trough menopause at 48. Since then I have been very active, with 3 water exercise classes a day ,3 days a week. now that I'm retired, I can't sleep, growing a beard, have brain fog, and incontinence, and more. Does this point me towards progesterone , and at what dose?

I have an advanced degree from a well known University in the northeast in a discipline unrelated to this topic. I was quite turned off by all the scientific gobble de gook she was spouting. In my opinion, unless you were a geek/nerd and had an advanced degree in biochemistry, listening to the scientific part of the presentation probably contributed to a 42% rise in brain inflammation to it’s listeners - including me - and to my falling asleep. Next time I suffer from Insomnia, I’ll be sure to listen to her version of ASMR. 😅
