3:06; Also, Alex Trebek is one of the best hosts in America even though he is a Canadian, and he passed away on November 8, 2020 after he hosted 40 seasons of Jeopardy until Ken Jennings became the new host of Jeopardy and Miyam Bialik for Celebrity Jeopardy.

I would make the Jack Attack a Bonus game with the winner of the front game playing. They would build the jackpot and must ring in when the correct answer appears. Miss and they get a strike, Three Strikes and the segment is tossed and moved on to the next clue. After the jackpot building, one final question would be asked (no choices will be shown), and if answered correctly would win the money.

I did like Debt, but I don’t know if I like how similar it was to Jep in the first round. All other parts of the game I really liked. Just need to get the format of the first round right to make it work. After the $1 tossup, maybe each contestant gets to select the category and gets to answer as many questions as they can answer. If they miss, an opponent can ring in and steal control. Whoever gets it right or the original contestant picks the next category and the process continues until a predetermined number is hit or time runs out. A Debtonator category would play for double the values of the questions. The rest of the show stays as is.

I really like this version of WoF. GameTek had made game show adaptations for years, and (as noted) this was one of their last ones (unfortunately...). It was pretty accurate, the control stick action (especially with rumble) provided a really tactile feel like you're actually spinning, I like the video and voice clips of Vanna, and the pacing was really quick without unnecessary animations tacked on (like when Vanna moves across). Another thing making the pacing quick was that the wheel portion more or less flowed like the show. You spun, and when to a show-accurate pan then close-up of the wheel, with no slow back-and-forth action to a specific wheel graphic in another slide. I also like the show-accurate theme swapping you get (cities, mountains, cabins, etc.). Another one of those nice small touches is the crowd starts going bananas when you spin with more than $9,999. My only real complaints are the over-emphasis on Times New Roman (appropriate for ye olde puzzle board, but not the digital one), and maybe a few prize wedges like Surprise would have added some flavour. But otherwise, this is probably my favourite game adaptation of Wheel (including more relatively modern ones like Wii, Xbox 360/1, Switch, etc.).

Hello. That was another great review video. I was a contestant on “Debt” in 1996 (season 1). In fact, you have several clips from my episode in your video. I’m Jeff and I’m the one who was wearing the blue sweater and the khaki pants. I also won my game and doubled my winnings in the bonus round too. It was an awesome experience and Wink was a truly nice man and a very professional host. Thank you so much for showing some love to a game show that, for obvious reasons, has a special place in my heart. For what it’s worth, I agree that the show deserved a longer run than it got.

@jeffreystreger2026 Месяц назад
Hi again. I do not mind one bit that you used my video for clips in your review video. No need to remove them. I was pleasantly surprised. Hard for me to believe that it’s been over 28 years since I taped that. Fun fact: I taped in July of 1996 but they did not air my episode until December of 1996. I had to tape the show every night just to make sure I didn’t miss it. I used the money to actually pay off my debts as of then. I had a little left over to buy a newer car too. My memories of that day get fuzzier as the years go on, but it was a lot of fun…and I would say that even if I did not win almost $13,000 that day.

I loved Debt! Wink was fantastic as usual and the show was solid! As for how I'd revive it... The toss-up would be worth $50 and first selection. General Debt would be season 1 rules but the payouts would range from $200-$1000 with the Debtonator worth $2500. Gambling Debt payouts would now be $3000, $4000, $5000, $7500 and $15,000 off a player's debt. Bonus round rules remain unchanged. Debts can now range anywhere from $25,000-$75,000 for each player. 3rd place player gets $2,500, 2nd place $5,000 and winner gets $7,500 if they bomb out in the bonus round. As for host - I'm kinda leaning towards Jeff Sutphen. He was great on BrainSurge, really came into his own on 101 Ways US and I'd love to see him back on TV. Alternate option would either be Debt alum Frank Nicotero or Power Rangers Time Force Red Ranger Jason Faunt. As for announcer - I'd go Tara Strong. And for the Debt security guard - if Kurt wants to come back, he can. Otherwise I'd bring in another Power Rangers alum - either Shawn Cw Johnson from Lightspeed Rescue, Johnny Yong Bosch from Zeo or Jason Narvy, who played Skull from Mighty Morphin'-in Space. I'd also add returning champions. Champions can stay on until they lose, pay off their entire debt without losing it in Bet Your Debt or until they win 5 in a row. 5 wins in a row pays off their debt automatically (no Bet Your Debt would be played) and awards a brand new car.

I did not know Wipeout was syndicated for a while after. ABC's affiliate, WISN in Milwaukee placed it in the same slot as most of the other game shows ABC showed earlier in the 80's (i.e. Double Talk & Bargain Hunters, then after, Match Game). They even used Bob Ridgely, who was an ABC staff announcer during that time as one of their announcers. John Harlan would announce on this show too.

It should've lasted longer. But, it had a terrible syndicator. CLICK should've been produced by Griffin in association with Columbia-TriStar at the time and syndicated by King World. Just like WOF and J!. Also, should've been on those very same stations. Finally, Harry Friedman would somehow be involved as a consultant or producer.

I really like the classic game. Only change I would have made was in the final round, the player picks the category, but it’s all toss-ups. Bonus round was nearly perfect. All of the interactive games were horrible especially the studio version of it. The contestants never said a word during those interactive games.

A sequel series to the original 1993 Trivial Pursuit game show has been ordered by The CW for the 2024-25 season with LeVar Burton of Reading Rainbow hosting the program. This is a sequel series and not a proper revival because it will use an entirely different format.
