Soundtracks, scores and everything in between, and a few other things added for good measure. Sometimes I rearrange the tracks in a chronological (film) order.
Great 👍 😃 song from Sam Fletcher and Oscar® Winner, Best Original Song, "The Shadow of Your Smile" from The Sandpiper 1965 and Oscar® nominee, Best Song, "Emily" shared with Johnny Mercer from The Americanization Of Emily, 1964, it's been phenomenal to listen 👂 to that Johnny Mandel song and hear it to watch.
I always love how this track complements Norman's return to madness. The entire film had a very melancholy feel with its score only to then return to that all familiar vibe we know from the original film in the end. Its really cool.
I have to give Bernstein credit. I _love_ the McQ motif - despite it's heavy handedness at times - and he somehow managed to craft together an ending that manages to push the theme one final rung up the ladder of explosiveness. Impressive.
Thanks so much for posting this. Stephen Sondheim credited this score (which he first heard at the movies as a teenager) as an unconscious inspiration for the feel of "Sweeney Todd." More on this in his book "Finishing the Hat" and in this 2009 interview: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JeVWaQjQJAY.html
Thank You!!! Merci!!!😍 I've been looking for this song for many years, I didn't want to hear Jerry Lewis when listening to it (as funny as he is in that scene). Je cherche cette chanson depuis des années, je voulais une version où on n'entend pas Jerry Lewis (aussi drôle soit-il dans cette scène). 💚💚💚
I will never forget when my dad showed me this movie as a kid. Made me a fan of Bruce Lee and inspired me to learn ways to protect myself in personal combat.
