Nice to hear about the issues with devices, too many people have the selling agenda and just preach the devices perfection.

I was just about to purchase the Notch straps, but I am glad that I looked this up before I did. I will be getting the Buckingham straps. Thanks for the video.

How about changing the left & right sides, so that the quick buckle is at the back of your boot, instead of how you have them on the front of your ankle?

Yeah, the buckles don't seem like a good idea. Will cause a pressure point on the foot if worn tight and also won't release under tension. The NuGreen velcro straps look the most interesting to me.

Does your bird hinge not have a little hole on the side of the part that says "NOTCH"? Mine does, but it was made 04/22

The cobra buckle is for waists not feet. Totally ridiculous and adds a safely issue due to additional aggravation. Whoever thought of it is not a climber.

if the buckle was on the side this would be a non issue

Hi great video really nice practical info! Anyhow do you have also a spinning top slicpin? I haven’t found any info on it in the manual but generally a rotating stainless steel part in a aluminium housing will wear out the housing. Have you find any problem with that so far?
@huffman150
@huffman150 2 года назад
I have had it spin but very rarely. I could see how it would wear though if it spun all the time. Could be your bollard setting. Mine is on the wider side for a 12.5 Sterling WorkPro.

The lower straps shouldn’t be that tight. The buckle would be fine if you didn’t pull it so tight
@huffman150
@huffman150 2 года назад
Yea, I like to get them tight before I get in a tree. They loosen a bit anyways after you weight the spurs and start climbing.
@FT4Freedom

The lower strap does in fact need to be nice and snug otherwise your spike moves around. Especially when using low heel boots.

Oh yea, very satisfied. I'm a hobbyist so it isn't used everyday but when I need it, it cuts well and mine was square out of the box.

Hey. Sorry for the late response. So far so good. No issues with that. I always Velcro them when I take them off to avoid that.

To each there own def see the bennys of the all Velcro but saying the quick connects are to hard to unclip or adjust is silly simply taking the Velcro back off a smidge even allows you to pop them free the boots are a whole other subject but those all Velcro deals look awesome!

At my local Vermeer dealer, I probably should've said that. I see them for 55 on the Buckingham site. Even at the same price as the Notch, there's no contest, get the Bucks.

@@mikehunt2667 Sorry, I misspoke. I had the aluminum with fiberglass pads. I didn’t like them so I went back to my steel Kleins. Haven’t seen the carbon fiber ones up close so couldn’t say.
