Stores in Nigeria use Aluminium phosphide to as preservatives to preserve their grains, legumes and seeds, and you also don't see it cos they sell out so fast that the weevils doesn't have enough time to work their magic. Aluminium phosphide, is very toxic when ingested or inhaled for long periods, so wash your grains, legumes and seeds with plenty of water before you start cooking.
You're a darling thanks for this. Someone refused to bring for me from Nigeria. I love drinking ogi. I'll be able to do this myself, never knew it's this easy to make.
I actually did something similar with yellow squash, oats and a few tablespoons of gluten free flour. The consistency was very soft, but that’s how I like my fufu. I literally put all the ingredients in a food processor(except the flour)and then cooked it down on the stove. I stirred it for a few minutes then added the gluten free flour at the end and stirred vigorously till it thickened.
