The purpose of this channel is to highlight some of the great places in the Philippines. My experience as a Kano in the Philippines is not as someone who is currently living there, but as someone who was in a long relationship with someone there. Currently, I am in the happy situation of marrying the most wonderful woman I have ever met, a Filipina from Mindanao. I really should have started the channel several years before I did, but I am trying to rectify that situation now and get some content up that I think will be of use to those who are interested in the Philippines
I have seen or heard of all the scams you've ever been warned about. But I have also met some of the most wonderful people in the world there. I promised myself that I would avoid the self-important philosophy lectures that some expats do. I have no desire to get involved in all the RU-vid wars, and I have no desire to embarrass either myself or any of the people I've known in the Philippines by discussing them.
@@davidkern8954 My wife doesn’t like me getting to specific about things sometimes. I had a video I made one time since Google Maps drove by and updated since our house was built. And I got screenshots driving by and showing a view zoomed out from way above and then going in on it. She said, “That’s really cool, but maybe don’t show that.” Actually, I have taken down lots of stuff through the years just because she thought maybe I revealed too much or was pissing off the wrong kinds of people! But, it’s a town called Aurora, not too far from Pagadian City. My wife is over there right now, visiting her family. It’s a pretty nice place. Safer than a lot of places in Mindanao, I think. But, you never know what goes through the minds of criminals and terrorists. Always need to be careful.

Heres a dose of reality and I am going to give it to you and you will probably delete my comment and ban me, go for it.. During Trumps term he went through many disasters on his watch and he was first one in with relief, even during the pandemic he got the 2 medical naval ships on both sides of the country to house patients! Trump has done more then any president I have lived through and I am older then you. His policies were better to and were for the betterment of this country but not this administration. DeSantis is a great governor but what the president can do and a governor can do are different, so don't try to compare them. I get it, you don't like Trump for what ever lame reason..
People likes Trump because we had a great economy when he was president. He gives people a chance. He donated 10 million dollars to the hurricane victims so for that I think he is a great man and a great president. He has taken a lot of crap just for america. I appreciate him. Thank you so much for stressing several times the importance of taking care of animals before ourselves and how they can't fend for themselves...and, of course, you mentioned children too. Nice story of respect from your wife and of also showing respect for her...the way it SHOULD be. So many bash US women, but many are very nice. Good and bad everywhere, though it is true that over the past few decades, western women have--as a group--become increasingly hostile, entitled, greedy, unrealistic with their expectations, less kind and loyal, and have inflated opinions of their looks, capabilities, and what they have to offer in a relationship.
Typical Filipina traits , specifically if they really love you . They will put you first before themselves. So please treat your wife the same , with respect and loyalty as well .
You can add a couple of tax cuts to trumps no taxes on overtime. No taxes on social security No taxes on tips. I would say the example which you are using about local taxes are services like police, fire, ambulance and trash pickup which are paid for by township real estate taxes. I agree with the trump tax cuts and we should take action and deport all these illegal immigrates that Biden and Harris just let walk in the door. Can you imagine how much money they are costing US tax payers. Literally trillions.

I worked 80 hours a week I had 2 jobs you know why? I got into an accident and had to pay 24 weeks of pt treatment out of pocket. Meanwhile illegals get healthcare and housing for free I am funding it though my taxes. I will soon be funding your social security checks. I drive a 14 year old Prius that I own outright. I lost my job this week I now do gig work full time. I am now going to make the conscious choice to live in my car and move to either California or Hawaii I am sick of providing to an economy that won’t let me get ahead so I am now choosing a different path. I can save up $300k in my car and then retire at 40. That is my situation.
actually it isn't totally true. On our house me and my wife is on the deed. PI law says if you separate they have to give the spouse a reasonable time to sell the house. What is reasonable we don't know.
Trump is not a republican. He is a 3 rd party candidate who took over the Republican Party. Republicans never wanted him and of course the democrats. It’s Trump vs the uniparty. I life in a large city so, being Democrat gives you a say in hard fought primaries like you mentioned. 10 years ago I thought Trump had potential but, since he has become so exhausting. I voted for Biden in 2020 becasue I saw him as the lesser of 2 evils. Today, I really like Harris. She has something. Maybe its her positive demeanor or lack of baggage but, with all this fervor over project 2025, I think in order to get the Republican back to where it was, we need to vote the extreme Right out. Of course, I don't want progressives to take over either so we have to be careful.

As for Hillary, the fact that so many people were willing to vote for Trump instead of her shows how bad she was. Trump actually had less votes in 2016, PA 47.2% Hilary had 46%, than 2020 48.8% but people came out for Biden at 50% . The same thing happened in MI and WI two other major swing states, people stayed home. Voters had no enthusiasm for her because at that time, SHE had all the baggage and Trump had the appeal. I think the reverse might happen here now that the country has Trump fatigue. Harris might be able to pull it off.
I loved hearing your viewpoint. I was a Republican until 2008, when McCain picked Palin for his VP, and I couldn't understand the depth of irresponsibility it would take to do that. So, I voted for Obama. Then, like you said, the Senate flat out declared that they wouldn't let him accomplish anything. Then there was Citizens United. I wanted to vote Republican in 2012, but I disliked every single candidate that was running. They ended up with Romney, but it wouldn't have mattered who they chose. So, when Trump came along, I was already pretty negative about the Republican party. I really disliked Clinton, but I voted for her anyway, and I really disliked Biden, but voted for him anyway. I guess I've been what pollsters call a "double hater." But, as it turns out, I actually really like Harris, so I'm happier this year. I guess it's ironic that I voted against McCain and Romney, but I view them as heroes now. Well, I mean, I always thought McCain was a hero, I just didn't vote for him. FWIW, my wife is also from Mindanao.

I think you might be right. People might be reluctant to say they are voting for Harris if family and friends are voting for Trump. In the privacy of the polling booth, it might be very different.

I hope you explained further why people should lookout for Philippine Expat Salesmen. Were they selling a pyramid scheme? Is the green beret cult guy the same Philippine Expat Salesman?
