Squad is currently rated at 190 million which is 90 million more than two years ago and it has a much younger average age. As a whole the squad and club is doing great but still a work in progress, which is currently going in the right direction.
I do blame Trafford for the goal. Not that he didn’t save it. - no keeper would have saved it. But I blame him because he is James Trafford. What I mean is it’s only be a Trafford was in goal that he took that shot. It’s obvious that they targeted Trafford as a weak link in the team. They tried to chip him after 20 odd seconds. If any other keeper was in goal he would not have had a shot.
Trafford’s not the keeper we hoped he would be, and like most I hope he goes. That said he’s in no way to blame and the lad just tried his luck as he would either anyone in goal.
I must have watched a different match , two mid level championship teams is what I watched, Laurent poor on the ball but good at marking etc , too slow . Worrell doesn’t have pace . Nothing coming through the middle , no one carrying the ball like sander did, all we did was punts up the pitch or hopeful up the sides which amounted to nowt
First game after a transfer window that saw us sell more than we would have liked. First half we were fine but Lacked finishing. The new lads mostly playing their first league game. Most of stats apart from the goals leaned heavily in our favour. First half I thought we did ok second not so much.

I agree with Benson not being good enough for the premier league. They know he has to cut inside to be effective, and premier league defenders were savvy to him early on. We know he doesn't defend. Yet we have treated him badly, well VK did for sure. Yet Vincent was amazing with Lyle. I have mixed feeling over VK he gave us the best season ever for thrills excitement goals and passion. I usually agree with everything you say Mike but on last weeks sales I don't. We all knew certain things would happen but when you listen to the interviews of Parker, Brownhill and Esteve they were shell shocked. Look at the unity at Luton, compare that to Sunderland. There are ways of doing things and ALK got it massively wrong. HUGE week for the board to fix the mess. You are right about Twitter, I've blocked plenty for the negativity
I don’t think that you can plan for timing, especially other clubs. If someone made an offer for O’Shea on Saturday morning, then what do you do? I looked it up. After a flurry of PSR related shenanigans at the end of June, there were only 34 reasonably significant transfers into Premier League clubs in the whole of July. Basically everyone is leaving their business to August this year. I wonder if the PSR deadline has something to do with that going forward.

Ha! I don't think I'm the guy for the job. Or maybe I am, because I don't think I'm the guy for the job? Besides, whoever would be there would get a lot of jealousy from other fans - just look at the way members of the Fan Advisory Board get treated - mainly by people who would give their eye teeth to be members of the Fan Advisory Board. A club having a trusted inner circle to quietly and almost covertly take the temperature on issues is always a good idea in theory, but in practice almost impossible to accomplish for very many reasons. I could have gone on - especially about how clubs should NOT be engaging on/reading social media - but it would have been another half hour worth of me getting increasingly ranty! Well said Mike, it just emphasises the chasm between the Championship and PL. The wealth off the PL needs to be shared more generously with the EPL as we see far too many relegated PL clubs bounce straight back.
Alas, the problem is that the clubs (who are the PL) are looking to make the problem worse rather than better. It does feel that we are two or three seasons of the Championship clubs getting promoted and then immediately relegated after one season away from calls for promotion/relegation to end in the interests of "competition".
Once again Mike a very inciteful Vlog and oh so true , we were massively out everything 'ed ( if that's a word )😊 last season on so many occasions, it hurt to watch week in week out . Hopefully this is as you quite eloquently put it is what happened to us last season is now happening for us in the reverse this season . We are certainly not at our best so far and worryingly for most of the rest of the championship , the question now is how well can this team do . Yes we have very good depth , but we still need to be careful . History proves one thing , what has happened before will happen again ! Just because we're the ones getting the benefit, doesn't mean that everything suddenly becomes fair and reasonable. Football matches should never been foregone conclusions. Three consecutive seasons in the Championship and we're the ones on the other side of it. That's all it takes.

Cheers for the feedback, much appreciated! The point of the two questions is effectively the same thing, just on a different scale - putting the club in debt in order to get success. It's just the definition of "success" has changed from "winning things" to "making money". The ticket pricing I could have gone on about - along with many other aspects of the business side. Why are they squeezing the ticket prices when they largely don't matter? Because they can. The major US sports (I don't think) have such age based pricing discounts and as far as the owners are concerned, the seat is a fixed cost whether you sit in it aged 5, 15, 50 or 85.
Mike do you know that the new government have put in process legislation that water company bosses will face personal criminal liability for breaking laws on water quality? The bill also introduces “automatic and severe” fines for transgressions, and water companies will be required to install real-time monitors at every sewage outlet, with data independently scrutinized by regulators. Not sure I see the word "no" anywhere in that lot, however, I do see an increased level of corporate liability. I will be very surprised if any water company bosses go to prison, but at least it might be possible now... Maybe there's a tiny chance for decent football regulation in the UK? 😀

The final question you should have asked is. If the liquidation value of Burnley is £150 million And you could buy it for £100 million, would you buy and liquidate it and then walk away with £50 million.? What do you think ALK would do, if they could liquidate Burnley for profit?
That's not the ALK way of doing business - they take what they considering underperforming businesses and turn them into ones making some/more profit. As for the wider point of asset stripping... there isn't really the value in a football club to make it worthwhile. A club has assets of a training ground, stadium and players. Players are constantly depreciating assets. The land for the training ground and stadium are worth nowhere near the required price and that's before you consider the pitchforks and firey torches that would appear if someone tried it. One of the things about phoenix clubs like Bury, Wimbledon and others is that the grounds are still there and usually in use. I think Turf Moor is an Asset of Community Value so has protections upon it. It's a worst case scenario, but one that is highly, highly improbable.

Yes, something to be said for Parker's proven track record in the Championship. I find the quite negative reception from large parts of the fanbase a bit unfortunate. The manager (or, Head Coach rather) should get the chance at least to prove himself. Actually as for Gudmundsson I had the same thought, he probably tested the market and found nobody biting on a 33yoi striker; so might as well stick with what you got. Also I like the option of getting the shirt w/o any sponsor.

Can't blame him for leaving, I'm less confident about getting back up now but i'm relieved we won't have to see another Premier League season under Kompany, i'd have sacked him at the end of this season regardless. Steve Cooper for me.
Moyes for me,we need a steady hand and experience and some new experienced signings and not a scatter gun approach to signing players like what has happened in the last two years.
