One of our favourite parts of Edinburgh, appreciate you climbing all those steps to share this amazing place! Great buildings, history and views, regards, Simon👍
Recomendo!!❤
Not trying to downplay the role and benefit of locomotives to India from the British, but in the book by Shashi Tharoor, “Inglorious Empire, what the British did to India”, he describes how while there was benefits from these trains systems, they weren’t built for the purpose and benefit of India or Indians, but for the benefit of the British who could export more of indias wealth by building such systems, and they did so with the cheap and exploited labor of Indians themselves. While India did not have an advanced system like the railway prior to the British colonialism, Shashi describes how India is and was the richest and largest economy in the world, that there would be no reason that without the British , that they could not have purchased or invested to create such technology themselves and could have done so in the best interest of India. While despite India not creating or bringing the trains into the country, they have been leading the way in many other sectors, much to the impress of others, such as the fact that India after independence from Britain created its first rocket and sent it into Mars’s orbit, first try, at half the cost of what Britain and others have done, all with Indian engineering and investment.
Hood to hear it was brilliant Larry. It certainly looked atmospheric on the hills and somewhat lush. The flies didn't seem to be to much of a bother. Good going. Mark
Everything looks great with the sunshine on it 🌞 Listening to you complain about your legs, you must have put some miles on them over the years. Have you ever wondered how many miles you have covered?
My dog loves your intro (not) lol he reckons there a bee that needs assistance 😢. Did you ever get the feeling youve been somewhere yet youve never been . I get that eith scotoand . Thsnks for the tour. Whats up with you leg brother ?
Nice one Larry - 40 years mate. It's still a veritable wilderness up there for locals and visitors alike. Yeah, can't keep up with the young ones - one step at a time. Funny, I just watched T Spotting 2 the other night. That was like going down memory lane. Well, good going. Mark
That last picture of Mike breaks my heart you can see in his face that he's miserable and doesn't give two shits about summiting. So very sad. And I hate to say it but, I doubt even if he had properly working oxygen, he still would have had a very very rough time up there. W the weather. He should have listened to the sherpas and turned around.
That kid was not ready to climb this mountain. In the least. His homie got to base camp and was already fd up. It is blatantly obvious that he did not have near enough experience to be there. I'm sorry. Probably unpopular opinion but.
What a wonderful day, all of the scenery was beautiful. That was a heck of a climb. The chapel at the top was just gorgeous. Glad to hear the bagpipes, thanks for sharing this beautiful day. 😎☮️
Superb Larry - back to the coast and the water. Plenty of sand about this time burying churches even. It looks a vast area - certainly popular with other humans and hey Cormorants. I love them birds. Well, good going - a well interesting area. Mark
Hey Mark! Thanks. I love it there. I wonder where that couple I passed camped . Hope they got a decent water supply. Its only about 10 miles away . I might try a wild camp there soon.😊😊
