I used to work on these things, the biggest problem was the rotation drive motor, stripped teeth on the motor meaning to have to replace the whole hydraulic motor, that can be costly.

There is an adjustment on the linkage that goes between the foot lever and the spot welder handle. If you tighten it up I bet it works better. I have the same model, it looks like it’s just not stroking far enough to hit the switch under the handle.
This machine was clearly designed before ergonomics was an issue. Having to bend so deep every time to reach all the levers is a backproblem in the making.
