Different types of dog safe discs have slightly different molds and different sizes and weights and all have a rim - the smaller the rim edge, the more difficult this throw will be. So I suggest trying different discs and finding one that works best for you and your dog.
My favorite discs are made by Hero Disc USA herodiscusa.com/collections/disc-dog Which disc for which dog depends on the size and strength of bite of the dog - and then the style of the dog's play. I suggest you try a sample pack so you can try a few different kinds. My favorite hero discs are: Super Atom taffy for my puppy. Super sonic taffy for Freebird - she's fast! And my favorite disc for extreme distance! SuperSwirls 235 are my favorite for windy freestyle play and toss and fetch - they just came back in stock! Xtra 235 Distance are my favorite freestyle disc! You can find some combo sets to try different discs here! herodiscusa.com/collections/canine-combo-sets-bundles
Fastbacks are the original disc for dogs! They fly and handle freestyle tricks well with their deep rim but they are not durable enough for my dogs strong bite. So for our dogs, we prefer more durable, Hero discs.
@@DragonDogs sorry another question.. in the hero or hyperflite line what is the more similar to fastback in your opinion? Because I love the fastback, I love the way they fly, I love to throw this disc they makes me confident 😎🤣 but like you said they are not so much durable so I have to change
@@zenzapunk Hyperflite and CS have a different disc mold called K10. It is a different size and shape. Hero uses a similar mold to fastback so they will be most similar to Hero discs. The main difference, aside from better durability and grip, is the rim on the hero is not as deep as the rim on the fastback for trick throws. It's more flat where the fastback has a bit of a curve to hold your finger. CS has more of a curve inside on rim but the rest of the disc is totally different.
hi, very nice video, I have a question though: are hyperflite competition standard good for freestyle other than distance? thank you in advance! Francesco
may I ask one more thing? in terms of durability would you compare a "comp standard" to a "Hero air" or an "extra" or neither of those? I'm sorry to bother you but here in Italy there are not so many discs to choose from therefore I'm gathering infos cause I'm about to place an order from the US. Thank you again
Once your dog is confidently clearing the bar and catching, you can add your body. You can start by kneeling behind the bar and throwing. Then fade the bar.
Personally I prefer heavier plastic when it's 10+ mph - my go to options are Hero Super Swirl and Hero Super Sonic for my smaller dogs. Anything under 10mph I can use the wind to my advantage with my freestyle disc of choice, Xtra 235.
