Love that you painted the trucks. It looks great. The issue I had with my soft risers was that they were bigger than the baseplate so they stuck out. The rubber was hitting the ledge and catching. I have never skate mini logo trucks. I mostly skate ACE. I just got a delivery from SkateOne yesterday. Stay Rad Sir. Go get Rad.
I have both boards and ride them for different reasons. The Powell reissues are the original shape and concave while Santa Cruz has adjusted their reissues to a more modern concave and added nose kick to make skating them easier. The Roskopp face is one of my favorite boards in the park to this day
I have almost 500 reissue decks, when I’m finished with a board I have two guys I know that keep them, one hangs them up in his basement and the other guy makes stuff out them like shelves I think, I just give them away though, My original thought was to bury them in my backyard so they look like tombstones sticking out of the ground
I have about 15 completes set up and in the past I’ve used stickers on top, or drew something with a marker, but I never thought of painting the board, cool idea 👍🏻
Man this looks sick! I wanna take my kink bmx to my local dirt trail. Its mostly meant for mountain biking but im thinking itll be just as rad for bmx. Skating & bmxxin thats whats up bro.
question? i have 8 original early 80s decks what's the value? i cant go off nothing because no one has any for sell but ebay and they are suss.. i have like 3 lester kasai misprints and like 2 3 G n S and the other are blank kasai or gns?
I’ve skated the roskopp and the Welinder both great boards and had a blast skating them but keep mine and hang them on the wall as a life of a board kinda thing, with all the others up with them they look good
My favourite reissue is the Saiz, absolutely love it, skated it hung it and literally today I’ve set it back up to have another skate on it 👊, want another one so I can destroy the one I’ve got 😎
I get it, the price is high on the 2nd and 3rd hand market and buying 2 makes you feel not guilty if you're going to ride it. I rebuild and ride old boards and I have no guilt at all just fun. would like to see a video of the Hawk deck after it has been ridden.✌
I can say from experience because I skated that Roskopp in the late 80’s, that the concave and kicks were the same back then. Powell boards were generally flat with minimal concave.
Great looking deck, and definitely a dip not a stain. No woodgrain is visible. The only one in series 15 that's a stain is the Tommy Guerrero. Good to know that some of these are going to get skated. I have the lime green McGill "Jet" deck from series 7 that has black Mini Cubics, black Rib Bones, and a black Tailbone. The color combo is super sick.
It’s not a green “dip”, it’s a green “stain”… although the stain is thicker than the OG boards… probably a different type of stain they used on the reissue.
Sick bro. I've probably said it before but I love knowing there's others out there skating these reissues and not just hanging them. 80s shapes are the best boards to have fun on.
i have a mcgill skull/snake reissue from 2012ish, before they went back to the old school bolt pattern. i think it was a dumb choice personally, but i get they were trying to appeal to people who want to wall mount them with period correct trucks. i have a santa cruz dressen rose crew, the blue one. it's like a '90-'91 shape, really looking forward to it.
@@sunfunskate i have stage 5(or 6?) indy 149s on my mcgill, but i drilled the new holes in the baseplates. indy 159(8.75") and bigger have the 6 hole plates, but only the standard/cast plates, not the forged from what i understand. i have several trucks from the '90s with 6 hole plates (venture, thunder, grindking, titan)
I love the OGs but I love a good nose more. So the modified 80s boards are some of my favorites. I have not skated either of these boards. G&S is my OG skate company. Also love the clear grip. Stickers and Clear grip just feels period correct to me. Appreciate your approach. Stay Rad
Great video mate! Enjoyed watching this! My Powell Peralta Bones Brigade 15 Mike McGill deck will be here today aswell as my New Deal Andrew Morrison Lovers deck in red stain , so i'm excited for those. Take it easy 👍
@@sunfunskate They will go into storage with my other decks until i have a wall to hang them on also lol. Should be moving into my new place within a few months so then they will be displayed all over the place!
