Some of what you write is true...but the glaring mistakes are 1. Bruce's father was not rich by birth. As a kid he made money by announcing in front of stores the store's attractions. His beautiful voice attracted a show biz guy and he apprenticed with the Chinese opera sort of vaudeville. It was Bruce's mother who was from richest family. She was probably the illegitimate daughter and was adopted to make it appear she was not blood. But her mother was British Caucasian, not German. She was raised in Shanghai first class education of course, including English. I don't k ow if she knew Cantonese since she went to Hong Kong at 18, because she didn't want arranged marriage Her family rejected her poor actor fiance, but they married. I don't know if she was cut off financially. But Bruce's father rose to upper mid class, able to afford and apartment for a dozen people ...extended family! But no, they were not millionaires, although they were able to afford sending him to good schools. When he went to America at 18, 19, his dad gave him $100. Probably equal to $2000 today's money. He worked in Seattle as a dishwasher busboy. Maybe waiter and lived in attic...he taught Gung fu.. Matt Polly bio has a good summation of his family. It's very complicated. But the gist is Bruce worked hard in America. He began teaching celebrities. James Coburn advised him to charge celebs big hourly fees.
