This doesn't work as well for my Hyundai i20. It has a very similar system, only with one very big ring that twitsts 3 times. Removing it, and popping the mirror back in, means you will NOT insert that ring back. However, I didn't see a need to do so. The mirror still hung on tight. Oh well. Thanks for the idea.
I just fixed mine, however, my lever is attached to the ironing board so it can never come out. The lever had somehow slipped from under one of the little flaps that covered the lever. I also discovered gobs of dirt and semi rust. I cleaned that off and added some 3 in one Household oil to the metal rod that the legs slide up and down on. I also added it to the release tab and lever its self. Who knew! Ironing board is over 20 years old. Thanks to you I can keep using it for another 20. LOL.
This is awesome! Thank you. You would think Dyson would have made it so that this pin was removable without requiring this mod. Once the hole is drilled, the somewhat tricky part is that the pin is pretty stiff and. may take some force to push through, The back side of the drill bit you used to make the hole works well for this though.
Thank You! I counted myself an idiot for a month because the handle fell out and I could not get my ironing board to collapse again. I knew that little metal piece was the key, but in my case I had to whack it with a screwdriver and hammer to make it release. Once I did, I was able to get that diabolical little metal handle back in and now I can put it in a garage sale!! 🙂
Had an Omni-glide for a little under 2 years, but had to let it go because of how frequently the wheels accumulated hair and debris. This technique might have changed things! Good work.
