New 2023 KLR owner here. I have riden towards the end of the day and dusk and I have used my high beam during this time. It seems that the high beam hits the bottom of the trees (higher than low beam) and needs to be adjusted. Have you had to adjust your high beam?

Yes, it is pretty good stuff, I would most defiantly say you need to size up if you plan to wear it over protective gear which in my opinion is a very smart all. Just found this video, and while I am looking at a 2016 KLR 650, I am wondering about lowering the bike. I have a question, as I normally ride cruisers, but my question is when lowering the height of the KLR, using the lowering links, would it be required of using the lowering shocks as well? I can ride a 32 inch seat height, but the KLR has a seat height just over 35. Secondly, if only using the links, would it make the suspension less forgiving for a daily commuter? For reverence, I am 6 feet, and 250 pounds.
@Heartlanddualsport
@Heartlanddualsport 3 месяца назад
Excellent question and I will start by saying this, I am 6 foot and a little more than 200 pounds give or take depending on how much I am outside. I have found with my weight, I am very comfortable with the stock suspension because there is enough swish in it, I can stand flat footed on the bike with my riding boots on,. Flip flops, which I would never ride in, I have to tippy toe. SO with the boots on, I am comfortable with the seat height. Something to think about and I will say this, since you are already thinking about it. I think you can actually , because I have done it on my cousins bike who was shorter, like 5-10, we put the lower links on his rear, loosened up the triple tree and lowered the front a. smidge.to level it back out if the makes sense. I am no mechanic and I am no suspension guru, but like you have asked, should.something be done to adress the rake angle by lowering the read and I agree it should be, this is one of the cheaper options if that makes sense. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week. If you are dad, happy fathers day as well. Dale

I got the adventure 2024 and i wish i didn't because i replaced the plastic paniers that can break when you drop bike (which anyone will do at some point) with the tusk Olympus and no matter what crash bar you buy, you almost always have to remove the flimsy top crash bars, which i replaced with the tusk so to me, there is no reason to get the adventure from the get go, but just the base model. Helmet free option here in Pa , but I use a cheapo color matched to my KLR nevertheless. I have a rib that still sticks out from laying my xs11 special down when I accidentally hit the gas too hard leaving a stop sign 20 yrs ago. My belief is that if you get in a wreck and hit something solid on a moving bike, you're screwed by any measure anyway. So yeah I wear a helmet, but WON'T wear hard core goofy looking suits or boots. If I die I wanna look cool doin it. edit - and I'm cheap.

I had cruise control on my Road King, I didn't have it on my Africa Twin, or my Himalayan, I didn't miss it. For me a full day is 500 miles (800 km). Everybody is different and it also depends on the road your riding. I don't think there is a gravel road that I have traveled that I would use a cruise control on. I like the variety of shots in this video are great but the quality of the video is very rough. Maybe think about increasing the data rate or updating your cameras.

I know KLR guys spending $$ on fork mods to stiffening up their front ends. What I do is install shraider valves (air valves) to my caps. You will have infinite adj.from 0=35 lbs.my dealer charged me 34$ each verses $150+ for shorter springs and the trouble putting them in, , just drill and tap, with an air pump,no tool needed.8=10 psi.dont go more than 35 psi, and your seals will be fine !
