Hey! We are Dan, Jessa, and Braxton. In 2019 we rebuilt a 1972 Vintage Travel Trailer and hit the open Road. In 2022 we upgraded to a massive 5th wheel. This channel is about sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly of building/upgrading your own RV and living the Nomadic Life.
there's a reason for the paperwork, its lots, but all legal stuff, no noise, no loose pets, you'd be surprised some people wanna be the noisy crowd, but isla blanca wants to keep all happy, i love it the last 10 years i rented there, no complaints, once you get used to going to office first, then its a breeze,
I just installed 6 Falken Wildpeak HT02 HD tires on my 2022 Ram Laramie Mega Cab dually. These are highway tires. They are well priced and are super quiet on the road. You can get them at Discount Tire, or through many other retailers. Good luck with your search! One of my OEM Nexen tires blew out at 29,000 miles, so you may want to factor that into your decision. Our 5th wheel has a GVWR of 14,040, so you're RV is much heavier than ours. Enjoyed your video!!!
@@JasonLawrence-bn6ilRV’s are personal vehicles and do not require a CDL. You can even buy a Semi and register it for personal use (you know the stickers in the doors, not for hire) BUT this does depend on your state as each state may have a different weight limit.
@@JasonLawrence-bn6il You are welcome and good luck! If you have any more questions, let me know! If you have Discord, I recommend to join @Five2Go Discord as they are one of the biggest full-time RV communities.
Glad y’all enjoyed my home park! Been visiting this place for almost 20 years and I love it! Amazing rides and great food (Twisted Timbers is my personal favorite there)
I have not been there since I was a kid . . . we won't talk about how long ago that was. I do remember the Grizzly coaster but most of the rest of them likely were not there when I used to go.
@@HomeMeetsRoad I had to go look it up after you said that. You are correct but I knew Racer 75 under it's original name ;) I had no idea they renamed it. I assumed they had just gotten rid of it. The kiddie coaster, the Woodstock one may have been there when I was a kid too. But it would have been under a Hanna-Barbera name back then. I believe it was Scooby-Doo themed. That would have been my first coaster and Racer 75 my second.
@@elisabethairey3447 Oh I didn't know they changed the name but it makes sense. Racer 75 wouldn't be a special name back in 75 😆 So was Grizzly your third coaster then or did you go to another park before riding it?
@@HomeMeetsRoad Grizzly would have been my third. :) Then my parents were done with amusement parks, I went to some other parks in high school (Hershey and six flags) but now Disney World is our home park ;)
Help me understand. This video is over five years old. Why Jack and blocks? For what? The trailer was on blocks while in the garage getting the work done. A jack was used to get it into position. What am I missing?
I just re-watched the video, and I’m honestly not following what you are referring to. I put the trailer on blocks the minute I had part of the frame exposed, and then I was able to remove the factory jacks on the trailer. I realize that in the video, I said I had 12” of clearance above the trailer, which I thought I had, but once I started to jack the trailer up, the garage door opener was in the way. That was the most room I could give myself to work on this thing. Remember HOA… I couldn’t work on it outside. It’s funny you think I had money. I did this because I had no money. I couldn’t afford an RV. I built this thing on a credit card, gambling on the hopes I made enough on the house sale to pay it back.
Very good work. Well thought out You read my mind on insul R - tech product. Very little heat transfer. Great thought on wrapping tanks as well. I would venture a guess, that The fiberglas under lay for noise, weather proofing, and lower wind resistance when driving was worth the aggrevation in the long run. Your care in building is far better than industry making money building them. Thanks for the video and commentary.
Wonderful video. You guys did a great job. Carowinds is our home park, we live in suburban Charlotte about 30 minutes away. We and our 4 adult kids (28-33) and 2 granddaughters (5/8) have annual passes, have had them for years. Go there about 1-3 times per week. Can't want to see how Six Flags does the all park passes so we can experience a lot of the other parks in the chain now that the merger is over. What's is your home park?
Awesome! Carowinds is amazing! We are a bit behind on videos. We just finished our sixth park on this trip, and Carowinds is at the top. Spoiler alert: We are not doing any of the Six Flags on this trip due to the timing and cost of passes. We hope to do a Six Flags trip next year, and yes, we are interested to see how the merge will affect annual passes. We are full-time RVers, so our only home is the one we tow. We winter in Orlando, so Universal and Disney are our home parks.
Oh! I’m jealous! Spoiler alert: we just completed our 6th park on this trip (I’m a bit behind on videos 😂), and Carowinds is at the top! Report back which coasters you liked!
We stayed there a couple years ago, nice place but we had a few issues with our site. The electricity wasn’t working in several sites and the attendant wasn’t very helpful at all. Kind of run down and neglected as well. Otherwise nice place.
My favorite is Afterburn. I always sit in the middle or back. To me it's the best inverted coaster in the country, just behind Montu at Busch Gardens Tampa. Very close 2nd at Carowinds is Copperhead Strike. So fun. But I'm 59 and know my body won't be able to take it for an indefinite number of years, lol. But it's great. My favorite coaster at any park is Hagrids Motorbikes at Islands of Adventure. Just can't say enough about it.
Its easy as pie to Register your car in South Dakota. You dont need any service to do it for you. Plus, Dakota Post, YBA, and others are extremely high costs for just a PMB. You can find places much cheaper, and then do the work yourself. I did it, and it is simple.
We just came back from a 4 night stay here and it seems a lot has changed in 3 years from when this was filmed. Although the beach and boardwalk are still beautiful as can be appreciated in this video, the RV sites seem to have become overrun with long-term guests that have now set up and taken over the place. The RV area is taken up by old, run-down RVs with uncaring "residents" that treat the place as their own personal junk yard. There's nothing worse than being packed like sardines in narrow spaces between campers on either side of you with their stuff sprawled all over the place without any regard or respect for the fact that someone has now arrived to occupy the space they had been using as their own all along. I would not recommend this place nor will I ever return.
Wwwwwoooooooooooooooo!! 🎢 So awesome! Good to see you all again on my phone. Without a doubt this is the best RV life travel themed trip on RU-vid right now! Excited to see what comes next. 😊
How fun! Love seeing what you all are up to. You're not missing anything back in Arizona. We're about to get our first heat wave, temps in the 110s next week. I'm not ready! We can't wait to hit the road again when the time is right, but might be sooner if this summer is as hot as they say it will be.
@@JesseePDX Not my videos. I'm enjoying the coasters as I could never get POV's like that. POV's are credited in the video and a link to every one of them is in the description. Note that most use a GoPro ether on a chest mount or a hand mount. Some parks permit chest mounts but most actually do not permit cameras at all (another reason why I'm not shooting).
Fort Wilderness is the best! It is the RV park my husband started me with for camping. I got a little spoiled lol. The 2024 trip sounds like a lot of fun. Just stay in the moment. It goes so fast with kids. Our oldest just graduated high school and I feel like we have been on fast forward the last 4 years. It goes fast once they hit their teen years. But do update us when inspiration hits! ;)
I can’t believe it’s June already! Time is nuts! It’s odd, I feel like time slows down on a coaster. You are so in the moment that even though you are moving fast, everything around you slows down. Obsessed is an understatement. But yes, this kid is crowing like a weed and teenage years are coming fast!🫣
Its wild how time flys so quickly. Doesn't feel like its been that long at all. Im glad to see that the adventure has continued for you guys all this time. Great update. Good to see the family is doing well. Any SpaceX adventures coming in the future?
No. There were no restrictions on the flight chart and they saw me flying the drone in the field. Never said a word. We played with a lot of RC toys at this park where the cabins are as none were occupied.
We are still with Americas Mailbox. For us nothing has changed. I heard that there is an eye exam involved when getting your license (it’s just reading your ABC’s right at the counter). We have changed trucks and RV since this video and everything went smooth. Americas Mailbox handled all the paperwork.
Not even close to a “cold” north dakota day. Its above 0 Its not winter My god man, the times ive walked to work literally wearing 8 layers. Walked because there was too much snow to drive through. Like…i climbed out of my driveway. Bro WHY THE FUCK DO WE LIVE HERE

Love to see that FTF Lifetime sticker front and center! <3 Great video! redoing my own vintage camper this summer and binging all the videos I can find.
