Do you still have to pull on the wheel every 30 seconds? If so, does that make it not worth getting FSD? Does the entertainment screen still feel slow with the FSD hardware upgrade? Or did that get faster?
I don't think it's 30 seconds, but after a while I will have to pull the steering wheel. I guess there is no way we can get rid of this on older Tesla since there is no cabin camera
Tesla addressed the noise issues on the updated Model 3 Highland. The windows (glass) has more insulation and the shape of the front bumper also helps. Not sure if they added additional insulation inside the panels, but many people has done the tests between the old Model 3 and the new one and there is an improvement. Nothing crazy, but it has improved.
Very good and informative video. Nice. And yes, for most people, do not go into Service Mode unless you REALLY KNOW what you are doing. One thing you didn't mention is how to check the Battery Health and Degradation. That is one thing that can be very useful both to see how your battery is doing, and also if you wish to sell your Tesla, you can show the test to the potential buyer as proof of how good (or bad?) the battery condition and lifespan is. Thanks for your comment ! Right I didn’t include the battery health test and I saw that’s a feature that will need more than 24 hours to complete, will probably shot another video about it 😊
hi, the main advantage is not the reduction of the noise level, but keeping dirt out of your doors, frunk etc!! That is a real noticeable difference. I have them installed for that reason and it works super!
I think one should say: 99.9% of all Tesla drivers should stay away from the service mode. You can easily screw up your car and might void your warranty.
I agree with you. Service mode is not something people will need often. It’s more of a FYI just in case something could be covered in here. I will add a note in the description and thanks for your comment.
TOP TIP. As a field technician in another industry I *strongly* recommend that unless you are extremely familiar with the systems, you should either video what you do, or take a picture at EVERY step, including the default settings and codes displayed before and after you input a change. . At very least, you should be able to find and input those defaults if you have a strange response from the vehicle.
I would suggest future videos that you skip using the NOT to do premise. Instead title it: “Top 20 things to do .. .” then start each item as either “Do xxxx” or “Do NOT yyyy”. That way I don’t need to remember to add ‘NOT’ in front of “Use emergency door release”, for example. Thanks for the idea summary.
you do need a tune up, cables, spark plugs, that lovely time chain, oil change, transmission oil change, alternator, sensors, injection system, do i continue?? Lmaoo
Does this procedure help to obtain better accuracy for the state of charge estimate or does it actually recover lost range and improve the total range of the car?
It’s a long story but the earlier version of Rivian was not that reliable. I had to send my R1T to the ship multiple times within a month. I was planning to do a video about it but now I reloaded Rivian is much better quality and reliable truck and SUV than the time I owned it 😊
That’s what he said in the video. LFP is the exception. Just refer to your display screen in the car, the Teslas instructions are clearly shown there whether to charge to 80% or 100%. For LFP, if you set your charge to whatever percentage other than full 100%, the system will remind you to charge to 100%. Unless you’re a stubborn idiot, you can’t go wrong with the instructions from Tesla.
