Call me insane, but am I the only one that thinks 3:41 is the same place as this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sXhYpdY-Two.html ? Seems similar imo, but idk.

Absolutely perfect! My dad and I were lucky enough to catch a ride on the July 3rd run. The whistle also sounded INCREDIBLE during these trips. Also, is it just me or did she seem to be cooking along a fair bit faster on the mainline during this trip than on the Deschutes trips?

They should have had the Great Lakes Central diesel behind the aux tender, and placed the caboose at the end of the train.
@gregudolph
@gregudolph 4 года назад
Caboose was for the crew to ride in. The diesel was to pull the train back to town as there was no way to get the engine around all the cars. Also, it was a test run, crew only. No one knew it was going to happen.

Just in-case of any issues with 1225. They do that with most steam excursions.
@patrickb33339

Its amazing to see how strong steam locomotives really are. This 61 car consist would take two ES44AC locomotives to haul. Yet the 1225 is doing it all by herself. Great video!
@epicswag5509
@epicswag5509 7 лет назад
It would not take 2 ES44's.
@justahillbilly7777
@justahillbilly7777 4 года назад
@@epicswag5509 Might take two SD40-2's but two ES44's? Yeah they'll outperform 1225 even at her best. Now 765 and 1225 working together might give two ES44's a run for their money but either one of them alone will definitely get outperformed by two ES44's. Edit: Corrected spelling and added the note.

When the polar express movie came out.People would come to me and tell about it.I would say"You know that a real steam locomotive.They recorded the real locomotive for the moive."People would not belive me.And when they found out the truth.They would have a funny look on their face."You was right but how do you know?"Iwould say "Thats eay when your a train nut."
