Hi there! I post gaming videos on strategy games, rts, turn based and city builders every Thursday and Sunday at 1pm UK time. Hope you enjoy yourself on my channel!
I only just started playing this game and maybe it's because the specific settings I'm playing with, which are: tiny map, minimum starting resources and no peace time. But I can't see why would anyone build any musket units, because pikemen are so much better - meaning cheaper and faster to produce. So in the same amount of time you can always produce enough pikemen to overpower musket units. I've done some testing I put 2 barracks 2 XVIII century barracks in two teams (one team was Poland, and second was Prussia) in Polish team I didn't use any upgrades while on Prussia while units were being produced I researched ALL upgrades for ranged units and when after about 5 minutes I send them to attack Polish army still won. I then tried to mix pikemen with musketeers on Prussia team and Polish team always won. So unless there are some bottle necks on the map, which ranged units could take advantage of pikemen seem always a better option to me. So far I'm playing only vs AI, but I already managed to defeat 3 impossible AIs without training any musketeers. I do use cavalry, artillery and priests since those do not interfere with pikemen production.
@@MichaPawelec-tz4ub your right, it depends on game settings. With games that have atleast 20 mins peace time, musketeers are always the way to go. You must upgrade them fully and get a few of the academy upgrades tho. What you want to do is to also have some sort of melee unit like mercenary roundshires or melee cavalry, this way your melee troops will lock the advancing enemy in combat while your musketeers shoot them from behind. You can do this the other way round with pikemen and dragoons although it is usually more expensive. Hope this helps.
@@MichaPawelec-tz4ub watch some of my most recent “road to 7v1” videos, it shows how I play against impossible ai, mostly using melee units like pikemen early game then switching to musketeers late game
Try playing online against humans. It's a completely different experience. Pikemen have some advantages, especially in 1v1 games on a small map with no peace time. But In the early game, musketeers can retreat in small, divided groups in different directions, making it really hard to manage your pikemen. By the mid-game (around the 15th minute), with musk upgraded rate of fire, pikemen become useless against musketeers.
That doesn't make too much sense as nations strength strongly depend on the game settings and map. For instance on a small map and without PT, Algeria is probably A, or even S tier.
@@Machoman50ta I would definitely recommend. It’s a small player base but one that’s well connected we have a discord - it’s on my recent video description.
The guy had 1 town hall, 1 barracks, 1 stable, and no academy. I think you could beat him with the first formation of 36 pikemen. Such a bad play from him for Switzerland which one of the strongest nations on 0pt.
Of course Ukraine is better than Russia. Though I am surprised, they didn’t make Ukraine the best country. Considering the game was created by a ukranian group
the game ends whenever the enemy has no posibility to win, for example if u take all the peasants and ships in a islands map the enemy cannot build more unless u deliberately send peasants to them.
@@tamasmolnos7070 depends on the situation. If you can easily produce troops and aren’t under immediate pressure then I’d go szekelys. If you’re constantly getting attacked and raided id go muskets. Szekelys are better but take more time to train plus I think their rate of fire is slower I’m not sure.
@@shahamirshahamir-g5s if you own it on steam, you can right click the game in your library and go to properties, you should find the key in there somewhere
Great video my man! Confusion is natural ;) I think with no peace time you want to go for light infantry with Algeria because you mass troops a lot quicker.
Damn, was playing Cossacks: European Wars as a kid, great memories. Cheers from Poland. btw, its pretty interesting to watch u commantating ur own game.
don't forget: Austria have all armored infantry in 17th century and a small note: the role of a skirmish unit is for high dmg on long distance - they usual have more range as musketeer as well as can upgrade their ranged dmg
Cool video, but some huge errors there in your tierlist. Hungary is 100% S tier. They are strong in the early/mid game because of their 17c shooters and the choice between 17c hussars or 17c dragoons. In late game they have a mix of pure mass and quality. Their special 18c shooters combined with mass of 18c dragoons and 17c musks plus artillery make them probably the strongest late game nation. In general an overall tierlist doesnt really make sense to me. You should make one for early, mid and late game.
Thanks for the feedback man, I would probably change some of it myself as my opinion has changed since making this, I might do a updated one in a few months, also might do one for unit types.
very brave of you to match against this strong enemy. I would have loved to reinforce your army with 1.000 winged hussars. love your vids. love Cossacks 3.
