This is mainly stuff I recorded off the telly in the 1990s and 2000s, with the majority of it being music. I've still got a pile of VHS tapes to look through and convert when I get around to it, so if you like what you see, press the subscribe button. I try to only put stuff up which isn't available commercially and hasn't already been uploaded on RU-vid (unless I've got a better quality version). If you're the copyright holder and/or you object to me uploading something, please let me know and I'll look at taking it down.
Happy Mondays inspired a great movie "24 Hour Party People" a comedy that I will always cherish just like my memories that screwed up bunch blokes as they clearly were. The music was good enough not to have a couple of ass hats jumping around on stage.
Yeah, I was. I went to Glastonbury in 1999 and when I looked at my souvenir book years later I discovered they were also performing in 1999. I never would of known and now they are huge worldwide. 🙂
Very talented singer songwriter and great on the guitar 🎸 l grew up listening to Aztec Camera and Prefab Sprout with a bit of Squeeze. They don’t make music like that anymore, how l miss good bands ! 🥹
I loved this so much more than Football's coming home. Never knew this was on TOTP! Even better way to pump our spirits. I know the whole nation was still in a gloom about Euro '96. THIS is what we should be screaming each game!
This was when music tv mattered. Appointment tv. Nothing like it. Awesome every week. Chris Evans understood live youth tv. He got it and we loved it. Dangerous and unpredictable unlike the bland corporate shit that’s all about the £s & $s now. £1000s to see Taylor Swift from miles away. Think you’ve been cheated? You have!
"Steve Coogan ladies and gentlemen...wonderful stories from Steeeve, em, and there'll more of him next week - you must do the story about the flies under the tree, it's wonderful stuff...the new Ustinov"
I’m confused. HIs Wikipedia entry quotes him as saying? “Girls used to queue up outside. By and large not usually for shagging. Oral sex they were particularly keen on, I remember. [...] One of my, er, regular customers, as it were, turned out to be 13, though she looked older.” He jokingly added that he "didn't ask for ID". If this is correct, why is he not spoken of in the same terms as Rolf Harris and Max Clifford etc?
