I am a big Donna Summer fan and I just don't really see her in the show. They are three women speaking and singing in three different styles with none of it sounded like Donna. Where is the strong Boston accent? Why is "Donna" doing technical dances including splits and turns that she never executed on stage? Why recreate her numbers as splashing Las Vegas productions (meant for Beyonce) rather than be true to the original? I have Donna's book and she was writing her own Broadway musical about her life and trust me this was not it. I believe that is why this show was a failure.
I was blessed to have seen Donna Summer dozens of times live. I didn't go to this though. I'd rather just keep my memories of the Real Diva thank you very much.
I am really astonished about how she can memorize, sing and also perform all of this ... Amazing! She is able of transmiting the frustation of her character very good ...!
A little detail I find adorable is when Trent sings to Shelby and her boyfriend comes over to help her just in case. To me at least that’s really sweet
