12's most heartbreaking line to Bill and Nardole is "Can't I have peace? Can't I rest?" (Okay, so it's two lines.) He's so tired and broken - it makes me cry every time I see it. Even for an (almost) immortal Time Lord, 2000 years is a hell of a long time. But he finally got his wish - now he can rest with Donna and her family.
Beautiful vid! I loved TG myself. Finally, after suffering millennia worth of trauma, the Doctor gets to rest and recover. 14 gets to take a mental health vacation, which allows 15 to be in the headspace to take care of the universe. "*I'm* fine, because *you* fix yourself." I don't see this as wiping out everything that the Doctor suffered and providing a clean slate. 15 still has all of that in their past, but they've had the chance to deal with that, to receive help, to recover, so they can go on and live their best life. And that is beautiful, just like this vid. Thanks for sharing!
im disapointed they removed the "pain and suffering and dark and sad past" of the doctor, it made the doctor the doctor, but now that they have removed it, i dont think im going to keep my interest anymore.
"it made the doctor the doctor" no one was saying this when matt smith played the 11th doctor like an actual toddler. the show is not all doom and gloom. the 15th doctor still has his dark and sad past, he literally tells 14 that he remembers everyone, he loved and misses his companions. but healthy people move with their trauma, rather than having it weigh them down. they didn't remove anything. the show is growing, and you are stagnant.
They didn't "remove" anything. They just let the Doctor finally take a moment to breathe and heal, so their past doesn't hurt as badly as before. That's how trauma works. Eventually, you have to work through it, or it'll ruin you. And stories get really goddamned stale, if your main-character doesn't grow as they go, too.
I'm still crying after every watch because Aziraphale was still blind to their love and somehow even their friendship after all this time. I really want to shake him and make him understand. I'm so sorry for Crowley. As Crowley said, how can someone so smart be so stupid at the same time?!
I don’t think that’s entirely true. When you watch Azirafale you can see how much his eyes follow Crowley. It sometimes causes him to catch has breath. But as he says when they are getting drunk, he can’t help but do what heaven tells him to do. That’s what angels do. He said to Metatron that he didn’t want to go, but gave in when Metatron hooked him with the offer for Crowley.. In a way, he’s quite naive about human feelings and still wants to trust heaven. I think you can see in his face as they ascend to heaven, his conflicting feelings. They are subtle changes that cross his face (brilliant acting by Michael Sheen) but tell a profound story.
