Wrong. In the original cartoon Orion Pax was a dock worker who idolised Megatron and the Decepticons for their ability to fly. After Orion tried to stop Megatron from stealing Energon, Megatron killed him and Orion was rebuilt by Alpha Trion into Optimus Prime as a new breed of warrior to fight the Decepticons. In the newer continuity, Megatron and Orion were lower class citizens who hated Cybertron's caste system and formed a friendship to fight the system. Although Orion wanted to do this diplomatically and peacefully, Megatron wanted to change the system through violence. The pair split and whilst Megatron formed the Decepticons, Orion was chosen by the Matrix of Leadership to fight against them and became Optimus Prime.
