OMG! I downloaded the pattern and I've been trying to figure out this part forever🤦🏾♀️ then it dawned on me to check RU-vid and voila! i'm subbing and I don't even know what else is on your channel😂 While I appreciate Chris Simons giving the (free) pattern, it's not very explanatory & so far I've caught one error which is that the pattern says to repeat the steps of making the set of ch 6 "twice".... but clearly, you'd have to repeat that step "three" times to complete the square so that you can join the last chain into the 1st ch 3.... just follow this video if that's confusing😊
Thank you so much for this video! On another video I was trying this with someone else and couldn't get pat the first two rounds! Now I am up to round 5! So happy now to finally do this one.
I was watching someone else's tutorial for this square, and I just couldn't get my head around it. Your tutorial is so easy to follow and I had no trouble at all. Thank you so much!! I'm so grateful this is truly lovely I've subscribed!
Hi there, watching & croching along with some of your videos, I'd like you to just be aware of a few things that I'm sure others would agree with me on but haven't taken the time to inform you about. - Your camera doesn't film properly to be able to see what you are doing, instead we are mostly seeing your hands & your fingers. They are always in the way. - It would help a lot to be able to see what you are doing if you held your hook properly by the handle & not so close up to the hook itself. - Your left hands thumb is always in the way to be able to see your work. Even when you are finished your products are covered by your hands. I had tremendous difficulty following this & your other videos. When I want to find where I left off, it all looks the same, we can't see your work, it's all hands in the way. I chose to follow other people's videos rather than yours for these reasons. Also, I use to crochet like you are doing, not anymore, for a lot of reasons. Maybe you should try crocheting the proper way by first making chains & so on, it would help us a lot to be able to see what you are doing & where we are at. Thought you would like to know. Thank you.
Thank you for your comments Suzanne. The squares were filmed by various people on my team via a Facebook group in 2018. Whilst it's good to know people are still crocheting them 5 years later I do understand that many need updating and refilming. That's a lot of squares for one person to do lol, but I might just have to give it a try 👌🏻 HAPPY HOOKING 🧶 🐈⬛
Love this. Gonna make solid and tree of life squares into an afghan for a wedding present. I love youtube because I can come to the game late and still benefit. Thanks for the video tutorial.
Ive reworked this a thousand time. Are the treble crochet for the corners..the 2 tr and 2 ch in the same stitch? You only lightly mention this in the last corner?
A 6 inch square is 15cm An 8 inch square is 20cm A 12 inch square is 30cm Most of our squares are the 6inch/15cm size with some exceptions (like the monthly RU-vid bonus squares). Hope this helps 😊
Absolutely! I'll make a video asking which squares people would like redone so I can get a better idea of which ones are the most wanted and start making them. Make sure you subscribe and hit that notification bell so you don't miss out 😉
Question for you? Is this American or English terminology? Your accent suggests English to me but the yanks will tell you off if you don’t qualify which terminology you are using! As they think there is only Americans on the planet 😂🧐
😆 You're right that I'm English 🇬🇧 However, these are American stitch heights I'm referring to simply because I find that 90% of the patterns out there are in American terminology. When I first started I taught myself using an English magazine so it got very confusing when I then worked patterns from the Internet so I had to retrain myself. Thanks for the reminder that they are indeed different; I will ensure I'm more specific in future videos 😉
It's a American version not an English version & RU-vid with not allow it if you show just the UK version but will allow it if it's just an American version which I have notice quiet a lot of. Because it shows you how much the Americans are against UK. I am sorry to say this but that is how I feel & if they looked into the history in the First place they would realize that who invaded that country for it to become American country is the English UK because that country actually belonged to the Red Indians. And if you remember that Walt Disney showed a cartoon version of a story of the Red Indian girl which is base on a true story but some of it being twisted. Just like Mulan. I am not against Americans like they are with the UK because my partner is from America & I have relatives that live in different parts of America.
Cute Grinch...it was so difficult to see the stitches as you worked them. Try a bigger hook with a larger weight of yarn and I think it will be a game changer ❤
This is the first of your granny squares that I am making. It was successful. I have worked with cables and front posts before but a square is still different. Thanks for verbalizing as you showed visually. I did have to slow down at a few places. I also liked that you had a finished project to show where we were and where we were going. It helped. I have a cued up a list of your other squares to make. Thanks.
