Super easy to do. Thanks for the consise steps in a simple video. Saved me time figuring out if just yanking on the glovebox was safe to do after taking out the screws. Also, where the clips for the fuse block were located. Only suggestion would be putting a title slide withe the Nissan part number, what tools are needed (Phillips and a narrow flat blade screwdriver is all). The time to do this is 10 minutes of contact time. Easy peasy!
I haven't done this yet. From what I can see in the vid, it looks like the fuse box can be removed by just taking the two bolts out and removing it with the metal bracket still attached. Can anyone confirm? Seems less risky than possibly breaking off a plastic tab.
That’s a good question, I’ve done this a couple times and have never felt there was a danger of breaking the tabs. I’ll be doing it again in the next few weeks so I’ll let you know if that method is possible if no one else does first.
@PeteR-dd8oq I changed it again today and you can, in fact, just remove the bracket with the fuse box still attached. You’ll need a 12mm socket. Thanks for the suggestion of an alternative option!

It was actually that easy with the previous generation of these trucks. Customer-performed maintenance was obviously not made a priority in this design!
Thanks for this video. Took five minutes to do because you showed exactly how to do it. I bought a charcoal filter on ebay for less than 10 bucks delivered.
@@hulong0205 Just did my break in change, too, on my '23 Pro 4X. Really not as bad as I thought it'd be. Threading the new filter through that tiny compartment door was the toughest part.
Wow, disappointed with the process. For my Honda, you just drop down the glovebox, open the hinged cover, swap out the filter and pop the glove box back in........ 3 minutes, no power tools.
After closely reviewing my raw footage, my best guess is it’s a type 168. I looked in the service manual and under the glove box bulb type, it’s blank :-(
@johnnysprockets9545 Hey there! Didn’t forget about this. I had to change mine out today and figured out it’s a Sylvania 74 “LONGLIFE” bulb. It’s available at the major auto parts stores. I paid $7 for a 2-pack.
This is actually easier than the previous gen Frontier. The 2nd gen was difficult sliding the filter in and out one really had to force fit it. This one requires a few more screws, but at least the filter is eventually easy to slide in and out.
Thank you so much for showing us how to do this. I've had my '22 Frontier for a year now so its time to change the filter. Fairly simple job but not as easy as my old '15 Frontier.
Had I known this was the direction Nissan was going to go, making something that could have been a very simple task so difficult, I would have bought another brand of vehicle.
@@hailstorm1986 you apparently haven't tried replacing the filter in a '22 model yet. The old models were simple, this one requires quite a bit of work to get to the filter.
Oh my God thankyou! Finally someone actually DOING IT instead of just talking about how they did it. I got the 5 screws out but was unsure of if I should wiggle it out or what. I have a 2019 titan sv & so I figured it'd be just like your frontier. Thankyou so much!
Crazy how they position these things to make your work harder.. they really don't wont you DIYing stuff. Lol How many miles you think we should replace these?? I'm at 17k miles now
Yeah they really don’t, do they? Gotta get that service $$$! They also had to cram MUCH more tech into these 3rd Gens with about the same space constraints as the 2nd Gens. Cabin air filter routine replacement is recommended every 15k or so; and even less if you regularly drive through dust, etc. I just passed 14.5k

You could do that with 2nd-Gen Frontiers, but you absolutely can not with the 3rd-Gens. Trust me, I looked for every single possibility. It’s because they moved the filter position downward and the fuse panel up and in, unfortunately. The fuse panel is smack dab in front of the filter housing.
