Agreed, these little Otokar swb buses are very impressive considering the conditions they tollerate ie the rough roads, crawling in snarled up traffic for ages, the heat and Japanese style passenger loading, their air suspension is comfortable and drivers say they are fairly simple and very tough.
Bloody weird things these! Quite hellfire when they pull off with kickdown active, but then you remember it’s got a pathetic little four pot cummins engine in it that’s incredibly underspecked for what it’s doing (yes I know that’s what they were when they were hybrids but even so).
I've just heard that Diamond Midland is the worst bus company in the West Midlands with a rating of 1.6. And I absolutely know the reason why. They never ever repair or maintain their buses. It's just a shame because people who likes the company Diamond won't like them anymore because of many breakdowns and poor maintenance
Literally DBNW throws all their old, ready to be retired buses to Preston Bus Preston is now full of streetlites that are broken down every other day, like just this morning me and a few other passengers ended up getting showered with Air conditioner fluid
At least Diamond West Midlands seems to have a decent fleet. Down here in the South East equivalent (routes in North Surrey) it's just pretty much boring Streetlites sadly
Ayy, I do love a good Volvo B7RLE and the Plaxton Centro interior weirdly reminds me so much of the interior used on the ADL Enviro200 from I'd say 61 reg upwards!
