If you are looking for canning, gardening, preserving, cooking, crafting, prepping tips & so much more, then you have come to the right place.
Hi guys! My name is Sammie, I am a nurse, a homesteader, a homeschooling mom & a granny. Welcome!
We live on a 10-acre small hobby farm in Oklahoma. We have 7 children with 4 still at home. We grow & process a majority of our meat supply & grow an organic garden that supplies us throughout the year by growing & preserving.
We are also blessed with many wild edibles growing on our land to forage, eat & to also use medicinally ~ I show you how to harvest, use & preserve some of them.
I also love upcycling, thrift flips, turning to trash into treasure & art in general.
Thank you for stopping by! We hope you enjoy our content.
i can't wait to try your recipe & techniques. i had to interrupt my watching of this video, though, to look for that mandoline slicer. i have one i got years ago - sharper image - which was just perfect til i broke a piece on it. holding it together with electrical tape has gotten tiresome. i am back to the video so i can make my list so i can get started on these pickles. thank you for a great video.
I recently purchased one of these solar cookers and I've used it several times successfully. It's kind of satisfying that you cook something without using gas or electricity, just energy from the Sun. I've not tried cooking anything fancy, but it cooks meats really well.
That is wonderful. I completely agree. It's very satisfying and fun to me too. My brownies turned out great! I just love it! Have a great day, my friend. ~Sammie
@SimplyJanHomestead 🤣😂 YES!!! It was so good. Lololol, I tell myself it's healthy bc it's just dairy, a lìttle sugar, and natural cocoa! Am I wrong??? Sorry, I've been out of the loop lately. I sure miss everyone.
The info you read out about water not going bad was really, really helpful. Thank you. Those smaller water bottles are single use only and should not be used for long term storage. They will leach plastics into your water and give you health issues. I'd try to replace those with another storage method if I were you. Also, you might want to consider something like Chlorine Dioxide drops to purify your water should it get contaminated. Brita has it's place, but it's really only good on water that is considered drinkable, not contaminated water. Blessings to you and your family. Thanks again.
Ah, ok. Thank you!! I will for sure look into getting some of those drops. That makes total sense that the filters are used to filter out the yuckies in tap water and such. I didn't even think about that. Thank you for the tips. Have a great day, my friend. 😊
It has a creamy texture and zero acid aftertaste. It's one of the few tomatoes that doesn't upset my stomach eating it alone. I wish tomato juice could have this same result. I have to dilute tomato juice because of its acidity and harsh aftertaste.
Good video and while dawn may have some toxic ingredients you were just showing people how to use it on the cheap which is super smart with todays inflation. If some people want to know why we use toxins on dishes I say because in 2024 that is what is available. Sure, we can make our own soap. I have made my own soap and it works but not well especially when you have to do housework after working 30 to 60 hours a week. You can also find some soaps that are slightly less toxic and you pay a pretty penny for them too. I say take advantage of reasonable money saving tips rinse your dishes well and say an occasional prayer to whatever higher power you believe in. And to naysayers you knew this video was about dawn dishwashing liquid before you tuned in or should I say trolled in😂
Thank you, Tammy ✨️ We were definitely happy with the outcome. I am sorry for being incognito lately, just a lot going on. I miss my RU-vid family. I'll get back into the swing of things soon. Love ya. ❤️
so I'm a former Kansas resident I've been inside this mansion it was beautiful we went there on two class trips i remember everything and that was 30yrs ago and no its not haunted
Enjoyed your video on water storage you mentioned the Alexapure water filtration made by my patriot supply its costly but cheaper than the berkiethe set up the same you can get by with 2 filters but it's set up for 4 and they're not cheap when started my storage I did use the water preservitive in the little blue and white bottle and it's says on the bottle that it's good for 5 year well my issue is I'm at 7years and dread the ideal of changing out all my containers im in my 70's and just don't have the energy if any of your subscribers know this to be true I would be most obliged I used all new containers 55gal and 5gals containers city water and stored in my basement it's cool and dark .thank you for sharing ✨️✨️🙏
Hi Jim. That's such a good point. Cleaning them and changing them out is a real job, for sure. Those water fliters have been such a life saver for us. Our county water supplier is always shutting off for repairs or running too low. I appreciate your kind words and thank you for your comment. Sammie 😁
I'm confused because I saw another video where a woman kept it in her oven at 250 degrees for 3 hours, not 1 hour. Aren't you supposed to keep it on the heat until the bottom of your pan carmelizes?
