Should move the cross beam jack further forward. Center of gravity is around the location of the steering wheel. They are nice jacks. I have the Daytona Super Duty that is the Snap On clone. Would like to add the one you have to the arsenal.
Sounds like a good idea to add to your collection. As you know the Super Duty is a really nice jack, very well-built with 5 zerks for servicing. The long reach while not quite as solid a build as the Super Duty and only 1 grease zerk will go lower and higher than the Super Duty. They just had an excellent deal in it for $180. at HF I missed it. Of course prices have gone up since this excellent vid.
Great reviews sir,I hope you doing well. Anyway, I was looking for a new jack when I came across your reviews. I was hesitant to go buy it because the Pittsburgh jack I had did not lower well. But after seeing your demonstrations on the Mustang. I feel more confident in making my decision. Have a wonderful day!
If it is BARELY going up, wheels seized, and is sketchy, yeah brother salute that old jack thank it for its service and it let it rust outside next to your shop or something. Glad you able to upgrade to a nice one!
I was at my wits end, about to give up and buy a puller. yours was the first video I clicked, followed your instructions pulled, and left the nut on loosely. Pulled with all my might and yelled "AMERICA," then a satisfying pop. Sir, thank you.
After raising it w crossbar where did you end up placing a front jack-stand? Seems like the cross-bar was so far forward on the frame it left no room for a stand. Thanks for the video, I have the same jack.
I went over a speed bump and now I here squeaking noise all the time in the rear passenger side . I can push up and down on the car and can hear it . sounds like the rubber at the top of shock .57000 MILE 2003 MACH1 COULD IT BE SPRAYED WITH SOMETHING LIKE 10W40
My 2003 RWD 1500 V6 3.7 clunks going over bumps, and shakes on freeway at like 65MPH lower control arms, sways been replaced, but not my upper control arms, and the boots leaked all the grease out when i just greased them?😊
How is it that everyone doing these Harbor Freight jack reviews seems to own both a Mustang and an F-150? Haha, jk. To each their own. The jack doesn't care what emblem is on the front. Thanks for the very helpful review!
HOW!?!? I'm a big guy, I can muscle my way through some stuff... But my 92 silverado just refuses to let go! I gave it everything I had, I was rocking the damn truck and it still refused to break loose! Maybe I need to yell at it; "Side to side! Boom!"?!... idk...
Tim here....Mr Side To Side BOOM! I genuinely LOL'D when I read your comment. The trick is more in flexing the wheel than rocking the truck. Pull up on one side, while pushing on the other. Give it a few of those, and then yank. Be warned, I have had one or two that still wouldn't turn loose, but GMs usually pop off. -Tim
Go to e-bay and put in your car make and model and they will hook you up with whatever you are looking for. I paid $120 for shocks, struts and sway bars with bushings.
Thanks so much you guys. Great video and I love y’all’s personalities. I’m about to do this on my V6 for the first time, and you all really helped me out a lot.
I've done my whole front end suspension on my 04 Dodge Ram 1500 two-wheel drive twice and I'm about to do it for the third time and you don't need a spring compressor, you can just use the jack to lower the control arm, but what I do is tie a small chain around the spring to the frame just in case. And another tip is to leave the Jack under the control arm y-you're uninstalling it to take pressure off the bolts and also do it in reverse when you're installing raise the control arm with the Jack even so you can put the bolts on easier. The jack is your friend not your enemy. It also helps to take the wheel well guards off, it just gives you more room. Always do an alignment after suspension work.
Important to keep that nut screwed in loose so you don’t pull your clock spring out. I made have a 30 second job 45 minute job because I had to rewind my clock spring and put it back in the right way
After long-term use, what is everyone's opinion on fancy colors (paint), use, dirt, oils, ....trying to consider color options probably go with black,, these fancy colors (green, orange, red,)After use take a beating and look horrible.
gets dusty but holds up nicely. i personally prefer a bright color (got black idk why) bc it’s visible and hopefully more noticeable to avoid bumping into it around the car but this is mitigated by mindfulness when working on vehicle. but if you have other people (friends, kids) at home it makes it easier to see
