Bone meal placed on the saplings will make them grow. Bone meal comes from bone placed in the crafting table by itself, or gathering fish will sometimes yield it.

@@Lambs_16 It's been many years since I've read it, but when they opened up the cave they found his emaciated corpse and evidence that he ate all the candles, bats, etc. He'd have bit it from dehydration long before that if there wasn't any water source.
@@crystalchampion9617 ok that was great in the original tom Sawyer book tom only saw joe in the cave but in most adaptations he chases tom and Becky while they're lost and gets defeated somehow by someone
