Welcome to On the Real Fishing. Let's go get on the reel and try to catch some fish! Come along the adventure as I continue to learn, grow my fishing knowledge and try to prove you can catch fish on just about anything. You never know what the next catch may be and I do my best to show the reality of fishing. Bad days happen but, they make the good days so much better.

There used to be more fish in there before they drained it. The invasive snails had gotten too out of hand and so they drained the lake and dug out all the sludge. I used to catch MASSIVE gizzard shad there, great catfish bait! They would eat the bread leftover from the ducks. Just throw a little piece of bacon on a longshank hook, stays on a lot better than a piece of bread and looks just like it in the water!
All on me. I should have replaced the guard on the back side last season but I didn’t and ended up wearing a hole through at the back. Easy repair, just have to find the time and money to do it. 😅
That intro got me buddy 😂😂I haven't been fishing or filming in a month and a half with these anxiety attacks!!! Now THAT is a long time without fishing!!!!! Wooooooo weeeeeeeeeee
I tell ya man, creek fishing has been tough lately. This heat and low water is killing it. Won't be long now until they turn off a bunch, usually around hunting season for me the panfish and stuff just shut down.
Thanks for sharing this ad for taking us along! That heat is definitely not good! At least you caught a couple and the skunk was nowhere to be seen. As always, keep gettin after em!

If I lived there I would buy some largemouth from fish truck and stock that lake. I fished all the way around in 2019 with top water and never got a hit.
My almost 5 year old caught a decent smallie out of the brook behind our house. First one we’ve seen within 15 miles of the house we bought almost 3 years ago. When he caught it he looked at it confused and asked if it was a bass. It was funny for him to realize there’s largemouth and smallmouth.
Was fun to watch! It's always exciting to see those shad active on the top. Generally, there's always something around them. Makes for some fun fishing! Thanks again for sharing!
