I love this kind of music so much. It's amazing to me how "ordinary people" who typically have a nationalistic "everyone should be the same", "people should act normally" mindset willingly made this kind of beautiful staunchly anti-normal music. The early nineties were an amazing special time of unbridled creativity.
Between 79 and 1990 I saw them about 8 times (& had some great experiences with their music at student parties). In the late 90s I had the pleasure of playing bass with a local psychedelic band called Visitation, we did 50% our own & the rest mainly Hawkwind covers. At one gig we managed an outstanding version of A&B + GV, the audience looked mesmerised in the slow section & when we rocked it up at the end they roared in approval. My fave moment from gigging. Must go & see Hawkwind again sometime.
@@glenjimen1234 sadly I didn't manage to capture that. Not sure if I was holding my phone over the microphone. Going to try and grab a better quality this weekend.
