Please fix the audio. It seems this video was attacked by the Christian Fundamentalists and the far-right demagoguery.

Picasso’s drawings are quite interesting. Unfortunately most of his paintings are simply bizarre and pretentious.

Are these all Picasso’s? If so I am blown away. You always see the same ones. OMG and these, well I guess it’s time to roll up them sleeves.

THANK YOU for NOT animating these like all the other clueless butchers that think that cutting up a painting and moving the parts around in constant movement actually aids our looking at them.

Thanks so much...especially for a chance to view some seldom-seen Sargent portraits. I appreciate the detail in close-ups...how masterfully Sargent could create a portrait with such great likeness, and yet these paintings show a broad and simple application of paint. Pure magic!

Funny because the first image is actually not made by Gerard Dou himself.

Vers 18:30, on peut admirer un portrait de François Langlois jouant d'une musette de cour équipée d'un soufflet et d'une souche de bourdons ; ce tableau a été peint aux alentours de 1637.

the sea and the paintings are not violent. the sea is a hostile environment to humans, same as the night or dark. many creatures flourish there, same as we do on the land and in the day time. the paintings reflect truth, these paintings reflect truth where most cultivate it to be what they want to see. to turn wild nature into an English country garden

Picasso is so far beyond genius, it's completely incomprehensible to me lol. Someone like him who draws and paints from birth, all day everyday, with complete passion and love, for his entire life until the hour of his death, it's impossible for anyone to catch up to him!! you'd need multiple lifetimes! thank god he lived as long as he did, imagining if he died in his 20's or 30's like mozart...

Ilya Repin's style is rather like a more serious Russian version of Norman Rockwell. I mean that as a good compliment. Great drawing, difficult compositions with so many people to include. Ilya captures the expressions, the characters and the mood of the moment with the feeling that we are there sharing the experience. Thank you Master Painters for introducing Ilya's work to us.

I always felt like you could take any of his paintings, cut them up into 20 segments, and display those as abstract art pieces of their own. 😁

5:49 | Portrait of a Roman Lady (La Nanna), by Frederic Leighton Did you know? In the 2003 film, "The Haunted Mansion" (based on the Medusa changing portrait from the Disney Theme Park Attraction), Sir Frederic Leighton's Portrait of a Roman Lady (Anna "Nanna" Risi) was Medusa's gorgon form, becoming one with Caravaggio's depiction of the severed head of "Medusa" on a shield applied. As shown on the DVD Menu, this painting is in the main "Set Up" where she transformed.
