Founded in 1987, IAC is a fully integrated EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contractor serving numerous industries including cement, steel, mining, food, battery, chemical, and industrial sands. IAC is unique because the company owns and controls all necessary aspects for EPC projects including in-house engineering, a fabrication facility, a wholly owned construction company, a wide range of IAC original equipment designs, and fast-response replacement parts/field services.
The corporate focus is industrial air pollution control (APC) solutions, but IAC can design and supply any type of industrial process equipment or system including complete greenfield turnkey plant builds. For more information, visit www.iac-intl.com.
OMG.... I have been sooo depressed about my 3phase 3hp "big blower" performance. Was almost in tears over it after much calculations and planning. I decided to do a "quick RU-vid check" and found this video. I immediately ran out and reprogrammed my VFD and BOOOOM, the damn thing was running the wrong direction. I can't thank you enough. Who would think it would still suck on the same duct in either direction, but one WAY more efficiently than the other. My decimal levels are less than half, and my air flow is like triple! According to the VFD it's now running in "reverse" I'm sure I can reconfigure it, but for now I'm blown away (no pun) by the performance. The world makes sense again. Thanks so much for making this video!
in the event of long ducts can you couple and axial fan with the centrifugal fan? the axial fan in line in the duct and the centrifugal fan at the end of the exhaust duct ?
Haha. Just had a 3 phase fan going wrong way on a job today. Sparkies adamant it was tested, as ‘it was still sucking’. Just asked to switch phases ‘just in case’ and voilà.
Your explanation is very useful. How to determine air flow of blower located onsite with the help of Performance curve, drive ampere, blower speed but without visiting site? Or what other data required to determine it? Thanks in advance
I have a canon type sprayer and I have difficulty moving the spray stream if there is even the slightest counter breeze. Is there a calculation that can be applied to determine how big the fan needs to be to blow air 75 meters into open space?
Thank you for the great question! Laboratory tests for used filter bags are the best method for testing bag service life. When performing formal filter tests all operational factors (filter weight, permeability, strength loss, etc) are measured against the original fabric media specifications. It’s a great way to find out if you are close to failure on filter life. Please call IAC and we can help with this! ~ Eric Huggins
Me puedes contactar a Lcastano@iac-intl.com. Saludos.

IAC builds and installs industrial dryers, used in a variety of industries, which are a piece of machinery unfamiliar to many people. For example, sand dug from the ground is washed to remove impurities, then dried in an industrial dryer to a low moisture content before it is sold for use in everything from building materials to backyard sandboxes. In agriculture, a crop might have a high moisture content when it is harvested, so it is run through an industrial dryer prior to packaging for shipment to prevent mold, mildew, and other issues. Thanks for the question!
Great works I really enjoyed every bit of this explanation.. Can you explain why differential pressure flow meters cannot measure mass flow rate directly thought they are dependent on the fluid's density. We know that change in the fluid's density will affect the meters readings then why it is not termed as mass flow meter and it is called volumetric flow meter.. Thanking you in advance...
Hi i am a HVAC engineer i have doubt in this centrifugal fan. My Kitchen Extract fan is showing discharge flow more than the suction flow. How is it? ( outlet air flow is more than inlet air flow???????) Please help me i am waiting for your answer.
