Most of the time doctors in movies are symbols for God..god is teaching a profound lesson here…to the audience…neither story is true true…just a perception of truth….from two parallel worlds..like the dad and son being polar opposites..so which story would you prefer…if they are both equal but parallel illusions… the son is cast as an egocentric stick up his ass person…the dad is cast as having lived a great righteous life and loved by everyone through showing all those connections he made in life at his funeral..they live different lives with different side effects both negative and positive. Neither is wrong or right.. but you must choose the person you’d rather be. Also the funny thing about this scene is that he tells God “I like your version better” unaware that his dads version aligns more and is closer with Gods version then the story he prefers and would rather hear….pretty much he doesn’t want to believe in magic.
His loss is indeed a bummer, but I am glad to see that Jerimya appears to be doing quite well for himself 20 years later (at least career-wise) 😀. Dr. Jerimya Fox is presently a psychiatrist in Arizona with Banner Health, according to his LinkedIn and other online websites...
For each of those 6 One Bid Prizes & 2 Showcases, I would have guessed the following. Home Gym: $1,190 Armoire/Jewelry Boxes: $1,235 Chair & Ottoman: $1,500 Ladies Golf Equipment: $949 Table Lamps: $875 Side-By-Side Refrigerator/Freezer: $1,349 1st Showcase: $18,000 2nd Showcase: $26,500
Lived in Phoenix at the time, but wife and I after seeing them there decided to travel to SF for a long weekend and see them at the amphitheater there so were at that show. Great memories
Picture this: 10th grade Spanish class in 1995. Kid next to me hands over a cassette tape. He says it's a band his brother saw the previous weekend down near his college in Charlottesville. On the label were the letters DMB. I was blown away. Fast forward a bit and while watching MTV I see David from Roseanne in the video for Satellite. Have seen them many times since then. Always fantastic!
I have loved all sorts of music over my life. My parents loved DMB and started it all for me. I think I know the words to every single Dave Matthews Band song.
Wow. This was an incredible find for me. I have had the pleasure of working for DMB for many years. I SO vividly remember seeing Charlie Rose backstage at Mtview and having maybe my only starstruck moment to date (despite working for many big stars for years to come). I was so shocked and excited to see CR. The total opposite of what most folks would likely experience. This is actually kind of funny now- so stiff, but he obviously would not have sought out this story if he wasn't a fan. Great memories for me! And DMB continues to make fans happy to this day!
Funny they open with Listener Supported. I’m proud to say I was at this show as well as 76 others. While 12/3/98 will forever be the best show I’ve ever attended, Listener Supported was without question the best produced show I’ve ever seen from DMB. Ironically my buddy and I had seats directly behind the stage about 24 rows up. At first I was a bit disappointed being behind the stage u til I remembered how much Dave turns around to Carter and other band mates. So it was a very unique perspective to say the least. Great show, excellent DVD. Go buy it if they still have them in 2023.
Things to like about this video in no particular order: -recorded on a VHS tape -BT!!! -the magic of the turn of the century - Lilywhite sessions I love the trips down memory lane!😊
Great singer song writer one of the best ensembles and great musicians in their own right. Unique yet familiar sound grateful to have experienced a band like this in my lifetime. Rock on DMB.
I went to UVA and in the early days I hired Dave a few times to play at our various fraternity parties. Later Tim played a few gigs with him. They both are awesome…both as musicians and people.
