Hello, my name is Lee and I am the Tall Tesla guy. As a product, specialty, DIY and certainly a Tesla enthusiast I am here to help you make informed buying decisions, and add a little humor along the way.
Now I am a tall guy so my reviews will start there, but I will blend them in for everyone so don't worry, there aren't any height requirements for this ride.
We are going to jump right into in depth reviews and DIY walk throughs from a person/family who actually use the products and have an unhealthy obsession with Teslas. When they do it right that is. It's going to be a fun ride..
Upload schedule: I plan on uploading videos weekly so check back often, and if you haven’t already think about subscribing so you don’t miss anything. I am always looking for feedback and video suggestions from views. So send away
So sit back, relax in your comfy chair and enjoy. Responsibly of course
People hyped up the Model 3 refresh like it was a redesign. Yes the new tail lights, headlights and nose are nice, but Tesla didn't even bother to add in-dash instrumentation or a heads up display and actually took away the turn signal stalk. Here we go again with the Model Y.
Buying now has many advantages. I doubt Juniper will have low interest rate and EV tax credit may not be around in a year and a half. I've been looking for a used MY long range 7 seater and to say they are hard to find is an understatement. They certainly hold their value.
Do you think Tesla will offer the free unlimited supercharger FUSC transfer to a new Tesla again? For either the current model Y or the new Juniper update?
I'm waiting. Love my '23 M3 RWD, but it's too small. I have to get a MY. True, Tesla's offering great deals on incentives, referrals, tax credits, etc. for current MY's, but combined they won't cover the fisrt year's depreciation. Also, you'd be stuck with a year old, outdated model. Best bet: Wait for the MY upgrade. I am.
You are combining news from several sources and also repeating what you already said in past videos. Project Juniper and Highlander were fan made up names, Tesla doesn’t even call the refresh Model 3 the “Highlander Model 3.” Update your respurces.
These are Tesla's internal code names, although the name "highland" has slipped through the cracks with some components labeled as such. I personally wish they'd start calling the cars highland and juniper - much cooler than letters and numbers
I wonder if the "juniper" Y will have inductive charging capability like the cybertruck has for wireless charging, hardware 5, or maybe power share capability to power my house during power outages?
Just picked up a new model 3. If you’re on the fence between buying a current model Y or buying the new one, just drive the Y and the 3 back to back. Most, if not all, of the improvements that were made to the new 3 will be made to the new Y. I drove the old model three and the new model model three and the current model Y before deciding. I initially wanted a model Y but we needed to buy the car right now and the improvements they made to 3 led me to buy a 3 instead.
Im 6’4, wifey is 6ft, son 1 is 6’2, son 2 is 5’11, daughter is 3yrs old in a car seat. We fit perfectly fine in our model y. It’s more space than i had expected.
If you're willing to pay more for a few new features you should wait. If you're fine with the current Model Y and what it offers, buy now. Reason being is that their priced very fairly and there's some great interest rates and the Tax Credit. (This may not exist next year) You either wait more to pay more and get more or you get it now and save money. Why are all these nerds using "Model Y Juniper"? Like how much of a geek do you have to be in an attempt to be COOL by using "Internal Code" names LoL
@@DrRussPhd Like I said, give it maybe a year and come back to talk to me. I'll bring a beer mug to collect your apologetic tears. Maybe you could prescribe yourself something for the cope? 😆
Cameras won't definitely see ahead with fog. For full self driving it's a mistake not to have radar/lidar. I think this means that Tesla is far away for autonomous driving. They will come to theirs senses when they're close and they realise that they need lidar
These cars are built like garbage even Elon admitted quality was lowest priority since he wanted folks buying a new one every couple years like an iPhone
I’ve had my Model Y for nearly 2 years with almost 100k miles I can gladly say I’ve had very minimal issues with my vehicle definitely the best vehicle I’ve ever driven hands down I don’t ever want to switch back to a gas powered vehicle it’s worth it to invest in a Model Y
The only big issue is the price paid ($72k - taxes, license, etc., also includes FSD). I can get a new one today with the same specs for $50k 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
OK you need to get a Model X! I've been following your Model Y videos from the beginning. I recently bought a Mustang Mach-E 2024, and I love it, but for my next EV in a few years I want a Model X
The glass roof absorbs sunlight and is also an efficient infrared emitter which transmits heat to the cab and the mesh does little to stop this. I wonder what would happen if we use the mesh + maybe some velcro strips to hold up a metalized bubble insulation next to the roof? I think this would help reduce the heat transfer into the cab. But I suspect this would deprive the glass of cooling from the bottom (i.e. cab air). Would this overheat and crack the glass roof or would it be safe?
I just put 4 Continental PURE CONTACT LS tires on our 2019 Model 3. Much quieter ride now. They are rated for 75K miles. We shall see how they hold up in Phoenix AZ.
Got 50 thousand miles out of my tires on my model 3 performance only rotated them once. Drove fast. Same wear as my Mercedes sprinter so please stop with this ev bad gas good narrative
I think only Tesla makes the ones with the dry cathode. But I could be mistaken. Also, during the conference call there’s some positive news about the 4680 production ramp.
