I do also talk about money so I show you all stationery that I buy and reveal how much I paid for it. In 2021 I started budgeting because I realized I was spending too much money for my liking on stationery 😬
I love the colour. I also like orange, especially coral orange like on your shirt. I’m not as keen on the Dune colour, so I guess I vote against it. I think the colours you have already are better. I will happily watch another unboxing though. The joy is infectious!
Thanks for commenting and voting against the Dune - I have a new cover dream now 😍 So although I probably won't get the Dune, I very likely will buy something else so an unboxing is coming some day in the (not so near) future 👍🏼 I have always said I hate orange - because I think about orange orange... But apparently I need to start thinking I like coral orange, especially papay coral orange or neon coral orange or... argh - color definitions are so difficult 😅

Clicked on this video so fast… because guess what? When the color released I bought it as well 😅 I just really wanted the color and the fact that it is called grapefruit is attractive to me for personal reasons too… i hope they restock the color in personal 😅 I know, it’s a bit much but I am also a collector 😅 So I know the feeling of wanting more colors. I think it makes sense to wait a little so you can enjoy each new cover and give it attention. Many people do switch covers by season or how they feel - I think it’s like having different outfits for your planner system - but of course up to a certain limit. I realize my issue is not having time to play with my new acquisitions so they sit for awhile before I get to them, which isn’t great. Unless something will really sell out or limited - perhaps it’s better to have a wishlist and go to it when ready (I’m really telling this to myself 😂) because the amazing thing is that there will always be more stationery things to buy and play with!!! Enjoy your cover! I haven’t edited my video 😅 but mine is more smooth and less texture but I put in rose gold rings because it is such a beautiful match 😍 I hope you have a lot of fun with yours!!! Haha, what size did you get? The same pocket Luxe? What size of rings? Were you surprised by the color or was it what you were expecting? I didn't find any videos on that color although I did try before ordering. Yes, it's a bit funny that you tell me to wait 😅 The tough thing with waiting is that you never know when something sells out AND you never know when they stop restocking something. I waited for so long for Gillio to restock something I wanted, and when the months and years went by, I gave up on my dream - and last I checked they had taken the listing for the color&size combo away that I wanted... Of course that is one way to sell things, but as a customer that's so annoying. You never know when to rush - and when you can just wait and see... Argh. It will be fun to see yours, when you release the video 😍
@@Katiplans I got the same pocket size luxe and it comes with huge rings, so I swapped for rose gold 25mm, still big but slightly smaller and mostly because I wanted rose gold to match - looks so cool! To me anyways! I think moterm official pictures make it look more bright and pink, but it's sort of salmon... it's hard to describe the color and I tried to check online too but I don't think there's much out there because it's a new color. But I knew it wouldn't be exactly as the product pictures because they always have such bright crazy lights... but I do like it. It's unique to me... it's like tart.... not like girly bubblegum pink but not like brown and tan that is so prevalent... It's a unique color to me! I hope you like yours and use it! I realize I am in no place to advise anyone on stationery shopping LOL I literally just bought another vintage thingy because it was such a good deal. I can't help it, but I realize also 15 euro here 20 euro there, doesn't seem much but it still adds up! I need a stationery intervention - hah! I will have to go edit the video now.... to share!!!
I'm curious to see the rose gold rings with the grapefruit cover, if I want to get those one too 😅 They do seem to have them also in the 19mm size 👍🏼 I think the color experience will also strongly depend on if you get a lighter or darker version of the grapefruit. As the one pocket of mine is so much lighter so if the whole cover would be so light, it would probably look again completely different. Let's see how they will age 😊
If you get a leather conditioner/cleaner or some mink oil and apply every couple of weeks this will give it the “leather” smell we all love as well as condition the leather too…this is what I’ve done with both of my moterm veg tans

I started with a local (read Finnish) Facebook group. That's the only place where I have listed stationery so far. Some I have been able to sell when I have been contacted due to a video I have made. But if I'm not able to sell more expensive items in that small FB group, I need to think of something else. Maybe try some other FB groups for specific brands.
You mean the one with the elephants? Not much, I just lowered the price to 5 euros + shipping. Inside Finland that would mean in total 10 euros. I have never used mercari, so I'm not familiar with it. We have other local platforms to sell used items.
I checked and it could even come with the same price or max 10 euros for shipping with economy class. I'm just more worried about the customs declaration how I would manage that. I have never done such thing 😅 Thank you so much for your kind words 🥰
Well, it's not easy. You have to put the prices very low so that someone would take it... But two I have managed to sell so far this round. Hoping for a few more still...
@@Katiplans Sometimes I don’t really care about the money, it’s giving the item new life instead of just collecting dust. I am decluttering the house and it’s so much stuff! Not just stationery but I have 3 kids so it’s even more 😭😭😭 I am looking forward to your video about those other 40 covers you have though 😍
Yeah sure. That's why I have sold some things for a very good price in my opinion. But I'm also in need of some shopping money, so I would at least want something in return 😅 But there are also a lot of other things that I just give away. There are just a few item groups that I even try to sell - stationery is one of them because I cherish it so much.
Hey, thank you for sharing. I'd use A7 for note-taking on the go, also there are notebooks you can write on in the shower (!) with a pencil (google Waterproof Notepad with Pencil), so that might be useful for the rainy weather haha. What's the price for the standard TN? I've always wanted to try one but they're so expensive... Also I think you can easily sell the Chic Sparrow with embossing because it's pretty neutral and doesn't contain any names.
Yes, I was thinking about those waterproof notebooks and pens but they are pretty pricy… But that is an option. But then there is also winter with -20 Celsius so I don't know what would handle that... Well, for you there can be a special price if you really want the cover. But don’t buy it if you really really really don’t want it 😉 But you know how to contact me. You can throw an offer at me and I can then think if I’m ready to sell for that price. But I’m always happier to send things to a good new home than to just randomly somewhere 😅
This was inspiring. I think I really need to take another look at my Hobonichi brand a5 covers and decide which are my absolute favorites. This is especially a good time because the previews will be coming out soon and I don’t want to feel bad about getting one if it’s awesome. I agree about covers on the Weeks. I don’t use mine as a wallet so the extra weight from the pockets etc is totally unnecessary for me. I picked up a black moterm leather cover for mine and was shocked at how heavy and bulky it made everything feel. I returned it and have used a COC for the last 3 years. Im also with you about not keeping morning pages. I love them, but it’s taking up a lot of space to store (I write a lot and in a5). I’ve been transitioning to writing in my a5 rings binder and I think I will recycle the pages after the year is up. I never meant to archive so many things and I find it easier to do away with loose paper for some reason. PS-I think that your inscription isn’t very visible/noticeable on the black cover if you do decide to sell it.
Oh, do I dare to ask what A5 covers you have 😅 I don't have any from Hobonichi because usually they don't carry my favorites in A5. So that is kinda something I'm looking for in every release if they would have a nice AND affordable A5 cover. Those can get pretty expensive... Yes! A naked or COC Hobonichi Weeks is the best 👍🏼 I think I started trashing my morning pages when I got my first moving box full and realized that nobody will ever have time to read them - nor that I would ever want anybody to read them 🫣 Maybe that is why I use spiral bound. That's easier to destroy than a bound book. I just take the spiral out and then I have loose sheets. That has worked for me, but A5 rings sounds good too. I enjoy A4 size - and probably wont change because I have now a nice vintage cover in A4 size. Thank you for your comment 😊

A6 is my favorite. I have the same chic sparrow a6 in creme, but I got the stitching. I have it in b6 and a6. Love the creme leather. I think it would sale if u explain in the description the transition and languages used. 😊 I got the b6 engraved with “My Luna”. “My” (English) “Luna” (Spanish word for “moon”) is my doggies name. She’s been with us for 12 years and I love her very much. I also just ordered another creme a6 with riveted pen loop and white stitching, but in the chocolate color. I also had that one engraved with the word “Stargazer”. My spouse and I love to stargaze. It hasn’t arrived yet but I am excited. I switch my covers often, like I switch my bags/backpacks. But I wear the same shoes all the time for the most part lol. Which I think is funny cuz around me, women change their shoes out all the time, the way I do my bags and planner covers.
Thank you for commenting and sharing something about you 😊 I would be okay with My Luna and Stargazer. I know a bit of Spanish so it's readable for me and I love the moon - and also to stargaze. I don't know if you know German, but the mein Leben means my life so it's This is it, my life, just do it, but this is it comes from an artist, who's name I don't dare to mention anymore and probably everybody knows where just do it comes from 😅 But I think I will keep it now for my A6 sized Q&A journals. I like that I have the pen loop to keep the pen and maybe the cover will grow on me now that I use it again. The leather is nice! I didn't know they still have it, because I haven't been following what they do, but it's always fun to learn what others love, when I share something new on my channel. So thank you for sharing a piece of you. These interactions are what makes this whole thing worth it 😊
These Q&A books look interesting. Are the types of questions the same in both books? Do either of them come out with new editions with new questions? What Finnish store did you find them at?
I have done a video about the other one three years ago. There you can see more of the questions that it has. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xv3hrJfvgA0.html But I think the questions are pretty similar in style. At least I haven't noticed any big difference. And you need to remember there are 365/366 questions per year. You won't remember all. Of course some you will, but most of them not. And even though the questions are the same every year, your answers most likely are different and that's also interesting to see. They have different editions for personal Q&A's, but I haven't seem if they do themes also for couple journals. Don't know if the new Potter Style journal has different questions then this hard cover one that I have. I looked the prices from Adlibris. If you search there with Q&A you will find these two and many others too.

I’m a Moterm girlie as well! I love how they feel in my hands. I’ve got 3 (a standard TN in orange, a B6 in green & an A5 in mustard) and the quality is consistent over all of the sizes. I love that, for the same price as some faux leather ones, I can get a real leather cover in colors that aren’t the traditional black and brown and beige.
It's nice to hear you have only positive experiences with Moterm 👍🏼 I'm still amazed at how much I love this cover - and that I didn't have to pay hundreds for this luxurious experience.
@@Katiplans I had that exact reaction when I got my first one. I just couldn’t fathom that I got a cover THIS NICE for less than $100 American dollars. Now, they’re all I want to use and own lol.
I’m using an A5 half year Stalogy for my reference book. That may be a good use for the one you have. With all the pages, you can easily make sections for different reference categories like quotes, keys, etc.
That's a good suggestion. I just don't understand the concept of a reference notebook 😅 I have watched some flips but it just hasn't opened to me how I would benefit from it. I need to keep thinking about it... Thank you for commenting 😊
@@Katiplans For me, it helps me remember things that either dont change or don’t change often but are always relevant to my life. For example, I’ve got a page dedicated to all of the books I own. It helps keep me from buying duplicates.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who looks at their partially used Midori pocket diary and finds it so adorable that it's hard not to go back. I was glad to discover those mini monthly ones. Next year I can put on in my passport TN. I just don't need boxes to write in every day in my weekly one, but perhaps I can make it into a gratitude log for the sake of using the paper for something. I'm impressed by how many uses you've found for different notebooks!
I have looked at those Midori pocket diaries for years already before I purchased my first one. They are so cute! If I start thinking now, I may come up with a use case for one for next year 😅 I have been wondering if I could replace one Hobonichi Weeks with the Midori Weekly... If you buy the mini and put it in a passport cover, the pen loop is also a great bonus. I enjoyed using it in my passport TN. And now I need to stop talking myself into buying one for next year too 😅
It's a Fjällraven Travel Wallet. I found it on a flea market and just had to buy it. I love the color. It doesn't come with elastics. I put those in myself. I have tried to find it online, but can only find the smaller versions, so I don't know if they have stopped making it 😔 The passport size version fits two passport sized inserts. Yes, I cherish it very much and I couldn’t believe my luck. It was in excellent condition and still a bargain. Like tenth of the retail price! I forgot to mention what it is, because I have been talking about it so much lately 😅 I did an unboxing and a flip about it before this video. It's a Moterm pocket Luxe 2.0 VegTan cover, but I have changed the 30mm rings which it comes with to 19mm rings. The color is plum (which seems sadly to be sold out now). I have way too many occasional/random/pending things that it hurts my head to take inventory… but I must do it! Yet I still want new covers or notebooks LOL the struggle is real! Thank you 😊 I can admit that I didn't enjoy stacking my books in one place - it was a bit too much to be honest. But now it's done, and I don't have to do it for another six months 😅 But I do like making these - having the history. And it can be eyeopening to see everything at once 🤣 And yes - more is more 👍🏼🫣😂 P.S. Now I can focus on dreading the promised cover collection video - that will be tough too 😅
@@Katiplans I really don’t think it’s too much because you are using each for a purpose - there weren’t many pending at all! But I guess then you can share your cover collection and it might seem more… but that’s another thing… because we can have multiple covers for one purpose if you just prefer to change colors for seasons etc.
I have never been good at changing my covers for seasons. I see others do that, and it seems like a great idea to get some variety and change. But usually I stick to one cover because it helps my brain to know what's inside. And sometimes when I try to change covers, I reach for the wrong books and things stop working. I also would like to have all covers in use... But if you are happy in one certain size I can understand wanting to change up covers sometimes. I would like to be able to do that... On the other hand - I like the idea of one perfect cover too... But I also like change, so in that way the cover change could help in sticking to the same system. Do you change covers for seasons?
@@Katiplans Yes, I see others do it and I can understand - like changing clothing, styles etc. But I mostly use certain covers for specific purposes. It might change over time, but generally, I want them all to be in use, rather than swapping around... but I'm just swimming in supplies right now and I think it has more to do with other things going on in life and it's like my stationery situation is a reflection of my life situtation!

Well, I have learned that I enjoy tiny planners 😊 And this baby is heavy so with bigger inserts it would be even heavier and I think that would be too much then 🥵 But these sizes are a bit confusing, so I want to make sure that nobody reading this would get a wrong idea. Real-A6 pages won't fit in this Moterm-A7 planner. And I don't even think they would fit in the Versa version either. Only an A6 sized notebook would fit in the outer cover pockets of the newer A7-Versa. This Luxe fits the Hobonichi Weekly, which is made for the A6 Hobonichi but is actually smaller than real-A6. Moterm-A9 inserts are teeny tiny with only three holes. Mine are actually real-A7 in height but cut a bit narrower to match with the mini inserts I bought from Japan. Real-A7 (105x74mm) is half of a real-A6 (148x105mm). And my inserts are 105x62mm. Moterm-A9 inserts are 78x60mm so nearly the same width but almost 3cm shorter. And real-A9 is 52x37mm so that would be even too small for me 😅 Thank you for commenting and sorry for the long answer 🤭 I got curious about A9 so I had to find out the sizes and document it here for future reference 😅

Haha, that's a funny metaphor - but I get your point 👍🏼 I just want to have everything I like in one cover - and I'm actually pretty proud of what I have put together now 😅 Only bound doesn't work. Thank you for watching and commenting 😊 Moterm did release some new colors this week in the pocket Luxe 2.0, and did also a restock of a few colors like apricot. I was curious to see grapefruit and it isn't anything I was expecting because we have a different name for the red grapefruit here in Finland, but it was a pleasant surprise. We'll see if they still restock some of the older colors in the future, like plum, or will they just focus on making new colors...

USA?) - this is a good place to browse all what they have AliExpress: Moterm Official Store Amazon: Moterm DE store and US store I have only bought from AliExpress so don't have experience from buying from those other stores. Haha, I'm glad to hear you enjoy my videos. Sometimes I'm worried to share something new again, but that's just how I work. If something stops working, I need to find something else. I'm curious to see how long this current setup will work now 😅

Thanks, it's always a hassle to get things settled and working. One day the thought came to me that how easy it would be if I just used pocket inserts in the pocket rings 😅 But no, that would be too easy and simple 😂 And I do love bound books - and rings - and tiny planners - so here's now the end result of that 😊
@@Katiplans maybe if it works you can switch to pocket inserts for 2025… I’m all for using what you have now. I also use old and outdated Filofax inserts upside down as notes and scratch paper.
Now I remembered that I got some pocket inserts with the cover - had completely forgotten about those... It depends what I decide my 2025 planner to be - if I buy a Nolty or some other pocket planner. Haven't dared to look for 2025 planners yet. It's way too early in my opinion, but then again I don't wan't to miss out on something I really want.

@@Katiplans I haven’t been writing, I’ve been travelling which is also fun and challenging. I have barely looked at my planners and journals. It will be something to look forward to after the summer when I need to ‘get back to the grind.’
Kiitos paljon. This is a balanced look at Sarra's system (although I realize it's a older video, her system remains pretty similar from quarter to quarter, year to year). I think the bootcamp is reasonably priced (US$199, I believe) but many people will be tempted to just buy the planner for less than a quarter of the price (which includes the 50 or so pages of workbook at the front of the planner) and to work through it at their own pace. Some people tend to be more successful than others with this method. Of course, if you try to DIY it and fail, you can always take the bootcamp the following quarter (and, once you've bought it, you have access for life). I personally bought the undated, full Sunday start of the planner, which is important to me and very hard to find (most "Sunday starts" have normal Sunday start monthly calendars, with Monday to Friday weekly/daily pages and a variety of ways to deal with the weekend), and I can print it myself every quarter. Of course, I've used other 90 day systems (quarters) and was also familiar with the concept of setting 3 goals per quarter and breaking them down into actionable chunks to handle monthly/weekly/daily. That may have helped. Did you find the videos to be very helpful in explaining the workbook concepts? Did they talk about anything additional that you can't get from the planner/workbook? Why are there about 30 videos if the course is supposed to run for 7 days? Are you supposed to watch 4-5 videos per day? I'm on my 3rd 90 day cycle with the HB90 and am finally getting the knack of planning with time blocks (although I cut them in half, for 15 minutes at a time, not half an hour, to reduce resistance). As for "the phrase" someone else mentioned, you said Sarra says something repeatedly that grates on you but declined to specify what it was. I'm going to check out the other videos you have and see if they resonate with me. Thanks again.
Thank you for commenting 😊 I try to answer your questions as good as I can. I counted and there are now 33 videos, 34 if we count the bonus closing call she had this time. Days seven and four have 6 videos and that is a lot! Most days have 4 videos, but I can’t do the course in seven days if I’m not clearing my calendar and life for it. Now I’m planning my Q3 without the videos, but usually I have watched or listened to them while doing chores and then done the tasks and planning between videos. But now I decided due to lack of time to skip the videos except opening and closing call. And I have watched the course videos so many times already that I’m very eagerly waiting for the re-make of the course. There is about 9 to 10 hours of video material. So of course there is a lot more than what you can fit in a workbook. She gives examples and explains things in the videos. But of course if planning is familiar to you, you can do the system with the workbook alone, but I think you will then miss Sarra’s style and ideas, which is kinda in my opinion the point of doing HB90. There are a lot of planning systems, and this one does things a bit differently again. For me the power of this system comes from the repetition. It helps me to get motivated to take the time to plan again, because I can take the course every quarter (or whenever I want). And because the opening call is always live and new, I at least watch that and get inspired to plan again. And planning does help me to move my life and goals forward, so that is why I have stuck with this system. And although I despise some of the exercises, those are the ones that help me the most and that is why I force myself to do them - and the pressure of the course every quarter helps tremendously in that. The phrase is a saying which we don’t have in the Finnish language and I didn’t know it in English either, so it didn’t open up to me and when somebody constantly says something that doesn’t make any sense to you it gets irritating. And I find it is a stupid saying (which they sometimes are) so that doesn’t help either. But I don’t want to point it out, because I want everybody to have their own experience with the course. If something bugs me, it doesn’t mean it would bug others. You may love that saying and use it yourself also all the time. Hope this helps and If I missed a question, feel free to ask again 😊

My first veg tan moterm rings was plum and I ❤ it. Mine is utterly smooth, which I prefer and I think it’s a fairly unique colour, not totally purple, not red. I’ve since bought apricot and chestnut, both of which are lovely too.
Nice, that's lovely to hear 😊 I think I would also been happy with smooth. That is just what I wish - that I could choose the planner from a lineup. I understand why they don't do it like that (too much work), but how nice it would be to get to choose the one you really like. I think I would be ready to pay extra for that. And I wish that at least a brand like Gillio would do it. I'm curious. Do you use all three covers or prefer one over others?
@@Katiplans I haven’t used the chestnut yet as that’s a B6 for my journal, which I’ll start in August (when my A5 runs out). I love both the apricot and the plum but they definitely feel seasonal, so I’ll use the plum in autumn. I did get a VDS TM and I was rather disappointed with the leather, sadly
Oh, I'm so tempted to get a second color also... but I have to wait and see. Apparently there are some new colors coming so I'm curious about those 🙂 I like that the VDS TM is easy maintenance - but that's probably the only thing I like about that leather.
Oh, that's nice. I think that depends on where you live and where you buy from. In Finland returns are not so easy - and not always even possible if there is not seriously something wrong with the product. That is why I'm slow to buy because my unsatisfaction is not a valid reason to get my money back.

I think I watched your unboxing right before making mine - if I remember correctly 🤔 I was a bit anxious at the time so memories are a bit blurry 😂 I have kept tweaking my setup and it still needs work to get everything fitting nicely but I'm hopeful that it will turn out nice and that we will have a long happy relationship 😅 Although I admit that I'm already thinking about getting more color options - but then there are all the same risks that I was talking about. There is no guarantee, that I will get something I like - and I don't think that there is an option of free return to AliExpress... Because they say on the site that you get what you get and that's it. Natural variation etc.
@@Katiplans Yes it is a random chance to see what type of leather you get - which is why in the groups BST is nice you can see pictures of exactly what you get… but you can’t always find exactly what you want. So I am currently going down the rabbit hole of mini planners… it’s so tiny and cute but also less on one page is like focus only in this one thing. However, I realize I might need bifocals because I keep taking off my glasses to see close up and then put them back in for the computer screen - oh my! 🫠
Oh no, after you said that I had to test and it's the same thing for me! I can read my planner better without my classes 🥹 So no wonder I don't use my classes when journaling and planning. But I have had sometimes problems reading small prints, so next time I just have to remember take of my classes - at least I hope that helps to make the text readable 😅 If not, maybe it's time to check my eyesight again...
@@Katiplans Yes it’s when we get older and the eye doctor asked me about it because I’m at that age and I was a bit shocked … I’m old but don’t always feel that old - I mean I sort of joke about it but then reality hits. It’s pretty annoying having to take off glasses out on again and again 😭
But you can't be like old old - don't you have a small child? So then you can't be old. And old is relative. But yeah - I have middle age crisis, so I feel you. I don't want to be so old as I am 😭

I have purchased some gorgeous covers through time, but realized they didn’t feel like me once I got them. Still gorgeous- just not me. I’ve been able to sell them and not lose money- thank goodness. I will try and apply this to my thinking this year when Hobonichi releases their 2025 goodies.😂 Ps- the Moterm veg tan is very nice! I have a midnight a5 and it’s gotten better and better through time. I couldn’t be more pleased with it.

I have a question. How are the rings? The website says 13 mm but it also says the molten is 13 mm. But I just watched a video that said the Malden is 15 mm so I think the website is wrong. Can you confirm that the rings on the saffiano are smaller than the Malden? I like the design better on the Saviano, but I whichever one has the bigger rings.
I found on the Filofax UK site this text: ”Please note: Exact ring mechanism measurements can vary depending on the year of manufacture. Mini organisers made before 2020 come with slightly smaller 13mm rings; Mini organisers released from 2021 onward contain 15mm rings.” But - in my personal opinion, I would choose the cover with a design you like more. The Malden and Saffiano are so different in pocket configurations and also that Malden is real leather and Saffiano faux-leather and of course what color do you like. I don’t know if you can really even notice in use the difference between 13 and 15mm rings. So in short it apparently depends where you buy it from how old stock they have if it has 13 or 15mm rings.

@@Katiplans oh shucks! It is more motivating to me to do hb90 in real-time but at least you always have access - so just do it as you can! I have done it quarterly but not always completely (the rebel in me) - but each time I feel I get better at it and more clarity. Definitely an iterative process! lol 😝 you are putting me on the spot! So I have bought a lot of actual vintage Filofaxes which are like 10 or 15 euro used items - so I consider it fun money and okay in budget. For the new personal binders - they cost more but definitely super discounted and I couldn’t resist the deal 😅😅😅 it’s interesting to think about prices of things in general. Sometimes we spend a lot on say… eating out… and so you have to think - okay what is worth it to me because it’s all a personal judgement… I do need to stop following prices and see the deals because it’s too easy to buy things that are a great deal but I don’t actually need! 😭
I don't know if I have ever been able to do HB90 in real time. It always takes me more than 7 days... Apparently I can't do so much thinking in such a short amount of time even if I had the time 😅 But I'm excited to be doing it again! I still have one week left before Q3 starts so I'm still on time 🤞🏻 Oh yes, a good deal is just waisted money if it's something you don't need or use... I fell for that last week and felt bad afterwards. I could have spend the money on something I really want or need 😕 Spending money is always a decision and choice. I have decided not to spend money on eating out so that I would have money for other things (like stationery). And that is also what I need to think about again - where I could spend less to have more money for stationery (if increasing income is not the solution that's available now). I have even been trying to avoid buying candy and other treats with the motivation that I would then have more money for stationery. Which is correct, but what I don't always remember in the grocery store when my mind wants something else... But one thing I'm sure about is that 20 euros a month for stationery is not enough! That problem I need to solve asap 😅
@@Katiplans I did start hb90 beforehand so I had more time to think on things. I find making the decisions on what to focus on the hardest part. Yes, 20 euros can be really difficult unless you hide from internet usage and never go out 😂😂😂
I have just made them myself: 1. plan what size list you want 2. write your list 3. cut to size (minus laminating margins) and decorate 4. laminate 5. cut to wanted size -- ready. You could also print on thicker paper if you don't have a laminator and clue two sides together to make it stronger, or just use clear packing tape or something similar. Or just hand write on nice card stock. Do what ever sparks joy and works for you 😊
Same problem here but what I'm thinking is we need to apply the logic of less is more, you are trying to carry less, well, make it work with what you have, try to use what you already have cause if you buy more, the more you have to carry and use, more optios, more confusion and you star to feel the need to use everything and you end uo with the same issue. Maybe what you need to change is the inserts, daily undated inserts that fit your planner, only put in 3 months at a time and for journaling or ideas small pretty notebooks that can be saved later.
It's a constant trial and error looking for a "perfect" working system, but I will now focus on the working and not the perfect. But I think I still need to find some solution... it kinda hasn't clicked in place yet... I'm trying to resist the urge to buy something new, but I'm not making any promises 😅 Thanks for commenting 😊
I think if you can work with what you have, keep going for a longer time and see if it’s really the sweet spot. Before investing…. Also because in the new year 2025 - things can change and alter your needs and wants again!
I don't remember if I used that word in the video, but I think investing is not the right verb in this case 😅 I think it would be just spending. Maybe in the second-hand market with vintage items it can be investing if you think of selling them someday, but I usually keep my covers. I'm so sad that everybody is giving me the wise advice of not buying 😂 I so would want to buy... But I think you can't say anything if I buy a used cover, right 😏

Could you trim the hobonichi insert and put it on the rings? How long have you had this set up? Unless you’re sure about the set up- I’d hold off on making a major cover purchase. I was in a nolty listing for a few weeks and bought a leather cover for it and then realized it was too narrow for my handwriting- now I’m stuck with a strangely sized cover!😂 I’ve tried to sell it, but it really is specifically sized for that planner- too narrow for a jibun techo user and a little too wide for a tn user. I tell you this to suggest that you be sure of the system before investing in expensive covers. Don’t make my mistake.
I thought of trimming the Hobonichi to fit it in a smaller cover, but I don't want to take it apart. That doesn't feel right now. I have had this exact set up now for two weeks but it feels so right that I have to think very hard to remember what I had before it 😅 I believe you could eventually find a buyer for it. And to avoid questions put the exact measurements and clearly state what it was made for. But anyways, I'm sorry to hear that the Nolty didn't work out for you and your money is now stuck in a cover you don't have any use for. Not trusting myself to be able to custom a perfect cover for myself I would very likely buy something ready-made, so I think I would then be able to sell it again. And also - I have already done the mistake of investing in expensive covers that didn't work for me the way I wanted. But - then I just made them work, because they cost so much, or just accepted that I made a mistake in the past with the knowledge I had back then. And if I start to think about all the clothes, shoes, bags... that I should have left in the store, I don't feel so bad anymore about the few covers that ended up being a mistake. But I promise to consider very thoroughly before making a purchase. I have already thought about it for two weeks and the pondering goes on still 😅 Thanks for commenting 😊
