Thank you. It was a lot of work but it's finally done. There will be three other short videos out this month, then probably nothing until Winter/Spring of next year. Thanks for watching.
My Dad was 3 years from retirement when CF folded. He had to work another 7 years for Yellow to get his pension. College boys seem to always ruin a good thing.
Hello in Russia! Я владею одним из грузовиков Вольво компании yellow, хорошая техника, выносливая. Американские грузовики одни из самых лучших автомобилей. Спасибо вам. Если можно, то буду рад держать обратную связь.
My dad use to drive for them in Arizona. I still have his Viking semi model truck. As a kid, I remember the company family picnics they threw every year. My dad enjoyed working with them in the late 80s until 2003.
I was real happy to see your N scale Layout I was amazed with your layout and you know what I really like your layout a lot I like all the railroads that you ran and that was interesting about that layout I really like the areas where the locomotives are stored and that was assome I hoping maybe in the future that you can add even more to your layout Hey I have been N scale Trains for 45 years and I m a N scale Train Collector I have 125 Locomotives and I have 5500 train cars to my name
Worked for CF for 25 years in Great Falls Mt. Starting 1975. We used to cross dock Canadian freight here. 6 linehaul drivers would make 2 trips to the Canadian border at Sweetgrass Montana everyday. The best job I ever had. Worked for Yellow after CF shutdown until I retired in 2014.
Steve I don't know if you remember me but you gave me some great advice on how to create roads awhile back. I have been waiting for you to post an update and it was worth the wait. You did an detailed amazing job. I've never left a comment to anyone before on RU-vid but I find what you do to be incredibly awesome. Keep up the good work my friend.
Thank you, actually I do remember you. In fact you and a few other people have asked me about roads so I made it a point to put it in the video. Thanks for watching!
Amazing work Steven! Oh my, I love the scenery and of course the vehicles. The truck stop and MRL units are my favorite, thank you so much for sharing. Dave B.

Hi Steven,I worked for Viking in 78" right out of high school had no idea this would be my first and only job for 40 years (27 Viking/13 Fedex).Great leadership and fellow workers was like family environment. Maybe you remember my father Bert Deparini? He followed behind in service truck, for observation or any mechanical issues that might arise.I finally got see what my father described about triples experiment/project when he came home. Thanks for sharing, take care, Joe Deparini SC/Body Shop/2084
Hi Joe, I never worked for Viking but certainly remember seeing their trucks all over the place. I was able to come across some footage of Viking equipment, and thought it would be nice to put a little tribute video together. Hopefully it brought back some good memories, thanks for watching!
Hi Steven can't stop watching your video, yes brings back awesome memories, most of all in beginning of video shows five gentlemen,I'm pretty sure person on right with hat on is my dad, lost him in 2005,thanks again for sharing!
My Dad worked as a Teamster with them from 1985 - 2002 in Oregon. He won many awards and was a great worker. Still remember sitting on his lap in the older cabover that he let me steer around the yard when I was 3 years old. Also remember going camping and fishing with many of the CF families from Oregon growing up in the 1990s. Great people and memories
I drove for Viking Freight out of the Anaheim yard ‘82-‘87. Never pulled triples but pulled a lot of doubles, nice equipment. Great company to work for, just other LTL carrier lost to history.
I use .060 thick styrene. I will spray paint the styrene with a flat white, then mask off where the white lines go. Then spray paint yellow in around where the yellow lines are to go, then mask those off. I will then get spray paint with white, blank, and two different shades of gray. I will give the road a base paint of one of the grays. Then with the rest I will "mist" the rest of the road with multiple layers of all the colors. Essentially I hold the nozzle about 2 or 3 feet away from the road so that droplets form and fall onto the road way. Let it dry and pull your masking tape. Then hit it with a clear coat of acrylic so that the paint doesn't smear. Do all of this in a well ventilated area (don't do it in the house). Thanks for watching.
I worked there in 1991 as a loaded/loader Sacramento. Man that was hard work especially with 1 operation forklift and maybe 3 pallet jacks for a football field length dock. Lugged many a 800 pounds loaded carts up and down that for $9/hour lol. My entire family worked many years there. Dad was a driver for probably 20 years or more. Mom was in billing dept. Step-mom was a manager at couple locations. Pretty sure my dad still has his driver jackets and hats. Did like a million miles accident free. I may have my toy viking truck still, not sure..it would be over 45 years old. Probably my best memories were always the company parties/holiday stuff as a kid. And the Truck Driving skills challenge my dad always entered. The coworkers were super cool..all ages 18 to 63 working that dock busting ass and helping to get the day over. A lot of sweat and injuries but nobody complained unlike nowadays. We had an ex nfl player from the Steel Curtain days of the Steelers work there too. We only had one bad supervisor, who I found out after I quit, he was fired for assaulting an employee on shift 😵😵. Dude was a hot-head
@michaelleipski9030 actually it was 92-93. I worked graves split shift like 7pm to 6am or whenever dock was cleared, which mostly wasn't until after 10 hours. Split shifts..I had Saturday and Sunday off
Amazing, The baby boomers were left good companies that paid well to work for, then they voted for todays companies so they could get their dollar tree items cheap. Thank you Jimmy Carter
