Francis Lee was a very special player. Didn't matter to him who he played for, he still gave it 110%. A lot of players from that era would be turning in there graves as advertising and TV contracts turned foot6ball into a non contact sport. Give a top line player a funny look these days and he has been trained to go down like he has been shot. The game has been ruined.

What struck me watching this is that no player rolls around writhing on the floor after being tackled, just gets up and gets on with it. Also, none of these stupid goal celebration routines, just a pat on the back and handshake, how it should be.

As a Burnley fan I'm a bit biased when it comes to the colours, but that West Ham strip has to be one of THE best shirts of all time.

Chelsea fan here. Saw Greaves when I was a kid. 60/61 season Chelsea scored 98 league goals but finished 12 th having conceded 100 !! Greaves scored 41 league goals inc 6 hat-tricks. England 's greatest striker.

It was a great game. I was in the stands with apprentice mates 'Chipper' Harris, and Peter Neve, we decided to splash out on seats instead of the usual North Bank. One of the alltime best games I ever saw, the quality of the players was phenomenal, Bobby Chalton still showing why he was the best of all time. Great to watch Pop Robson again. Happy memories.

so much top talent on show in one match - earning the applause great football being played * *Upton Park* * I haven't been to the athletics track , don't intend to either , that move was the final nail in the coffin ( in my eyes ) the vultures had moved in and turned the whole thing into a grubby money making scheme - glorified pimps , the lot of them . They stole the heart of the club . West Ham London / No castle on the badge . My spotty har-harce . But , we have RU-vid .

"Herr General, our offensive line has advanced only 120 yards in the last week. What should we do?" "What can we do? This mud is bogging down our infantry and light armoured vehicles. It's like sending our men out to march through treacle. I should have listened to Schlosser and delayed the invasion until the spring." "Jah! And besides, Hammers are playing City on here at 3 o'clock."

Dear Reader, The true Gospel: ✝️ Simply believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried and rose to life again on the third day. Put your faith in Jesus Christ that He has paid your sin debt & you are saved, sealed by the Holy Spirit and Heaven-bound. It's that simple folks. Get saved today 🙌 🙏 Please obtain a King James Bible and read it. The Gospel of John is a good place to start. Please avoid all modern per'versions' as they all add or take away from Scripture & reading them will have you confused & doubting your salvation (as is their purpose!) God bless you ✝️

What a contrast to the mud pitches back then in the early 1970s. To the prestine, neatly trimmed, green & well-kept pitches you get all year round in the Premiership & beyond & today folks!! And a superb 5-1 win for West Ham at Maine Road back then too despite the conditions.
