After retiring from [REDACTED] R&D where, for over 100 years, I taught Labrador Retrievers how to Texas Two-Step I decided to talk about video games on the internet. Subscribe ONLY if you're one of the cool ones (I'll know (oh, I’ll know)).
It is highly probable that there will be allusions to Jin and subsequent Ghosts. These will likely manifest as novel legends for both armor and weaponry.
It's nice to see someone with a nuanced logical look at the game rather than complain that they don't agree with the VA. The amount of reaching I've seen just because it's a female lead is crazy even when Japanese ppl are calling out all the things they got right.
All this disaster right when I bought ghost of tshuashima and started to play it and enjoy it very much so, and the sequel turns out to be another woke slop.

I hate when games (or stories in general) are preachy in any direction, but I feel like if I worried about an actor’s personal politics I would never be able to watch a movie ever again.
@@vigvillain This is a totally fair position. For me her behaviour is just additive to the fact that I know sucker punch isn't trying to tell a unique storey (e.g., Blue Eyed Samurai) and is just making yet another DEI/Diversity game. I am happy to be proven wrong, but hiring a POS actress to star in the sequel to a game with a male protagonist is beyond fishy.
I think where we disagree is that I don't think it is possible to know the merits of sucker punch's story until they release it, and given the fact that it is the same two directors returning from the first game I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.
They felt it was necessary to replace the ENTIRE development team of Ghost of Tsushima with ONLY women. No men allowed. Then these self identified feminist developers hired a woke, non-binary, half head shaved, man hating activist to be THE face of this new Ghost of You-Bow-Down game. That is enough for me to NEVER buy this game. Ever.
I’ve always wanted to check out Sushima but considering I’ve been on the same campaign of RDR2 for 5 years, I might just stick to watching your videos 😂
bro, they don't even get it. I will drop to their pvt wallet DOUBLE the purchase cost of the game if Nintendo steal all the money, I will NEVER give a dime to Nintendo. Their games suck and they're an awful company. Only treat people right when their back is against the wall. I'm no customer of Nintendo's but I care for these small devs who make GOOD experiences, the lawsuit is frivolous, It's as easy as that. Japanese honoru takes quite a hit from these limp d rtrds who try to manipulate the world around them, and make up lies to cater to their narrative. They should have made their product not be trash and put minimal effort in....this is sad AF. Some Western ass behavior from good ol terrible...
I only ever read the books. But for some reason (let’s face it, f feminism) I went out and bought my first XBox and the Space Marine 2. I think this game may be next. Arthritis makes it tough, my son showed me the aim assist and vertical inversion and that helped. I tell you what…boys NEED games like this and examples like Titus in their lives. The way he handles the situation with Gadriel is as the father we wish we all had would. And yes, young men, I’ve been to war and will tell you, the bonds of brotherhood can be that strong in real life, you just need to trust and support one another. Posted on my boy’s (now a man) account because he left his phone open. Any ideas on how else I should mess with him?
Well, if you haven't watched the video then you don't have the context of the point I was trying to make, so I don't know what else to say, but... I appreciate you taking the time to comment. This is a small channel and the engagement helps. Thanks!
as a retro gamer, I'm enjoying the wii u now. Maybe one day I will play their fruity lil switch machine in retrospect as well....bc I don't give money to these "black bastards."
@@vigvillain Nintendo might be the *ONLY* one to face PR backlash at all, since other Japanese companies that filed patent lawsuits (Capcom and Konami) not long ago got very little backlash.
there's a remedial problem problem with saying that if it is a 1 to 1 recreation of a game mechanic patent, what would that mean? that monsters cant be in a ball as opposed to a box? the UX of the menus can't be a certain way? That vending machines can't operate a certain way? Why is it a no-go zone when the rest of the game is strongly distinct. that's the point you're missing in the frustration of game mechanic patenting, that on top of all the things a game could try to innovate or express, the act of trowing a ball to (for example) summon or capture something is infringement regardless of all the things that makes the game more ore less distinct or innovative. We should be frustrated in the audacity of nintendo for being willing to go in a direction what would harm indie creators, instead of shrugging and saying that nothing may come out of it. The same way the absurd scenario of disney lawyers trying to weasel their way out of a wrongful death case because the family of the victim signed an arbitration clause to one of Disney's services. It should be kept in mind what happens if it goes the worst way because we don't want it to be the legal answer until another court even more years down the line for someone to see a similar situation differently, even a result that make it harder to protect patents in the industry that actually does hold value.
I may have done a poor job expressing my point in the video, so let me try again(though you might still disagree): I do think patenting game mechanics hinders innovation (I mention WB’s nemesis system as an example) and I think we do want to see developers iterating on existing mechanics. However I don’t think there is reason to believe Nintendo will now go after EVERY game, or that this will alter the indie landscape. I’m not weighing in on whether Nintendo should win or lose this case from a legal or moral standpoint, merely pointing out that there is past precedent (like Colopl) to show that the fallout will be limited.
@@vigvillain The problem isn't the results, it's a far, albeit important, secondary, that we as foreign laymen can only conjecture. it's the action. It's patent trolling, plain and simple. It's not the problem of nintendo winning or settling, but the fact they chose to take resources from smaller studios. Where nintendo losing or settling doesn't benefit Palworld, and Nintendo winning has demonstrable adverse effects. I can point to the patent trolling that was rampant in the early 2010s in the US as precedence that it will have long term and wide reaching adverse adverse effects regardless of nintendo wins, so long as they holds the patents and patent law isn't articulated. I just don't see the point in articulating that the consequences bad action may be small when it already costs lawyers to defend themselves. Saying that we should only demonstrate concern for the worst when it becomes a big deal and not because the behavior is a problem to begin with is strange in my eyes. When it stops being the case as you present it, we'd be eating crow when it's though and old.
@@vigvillain Weather Nintendo starts going after a whole bunch of companies for perceived patent infringement or not doesn't matter, it's the FEAR that they would that matters here. What game dev can possibly trust that they wouldn't be targeted for having a somewhat similar mechanic in their game, if their game sold well enough to be considered competition? If Nintendo had sued over copyright I would have sided with them 100% but this method screams trying to kill any future competition.
@sarahsturgill9262 this is why this law needs to change since all the game's has these effects from other game's and company and for what Nintendo did was straight up wrong and should be illegal just because a came out beforehand in the public when month or two later have their patent right. In the USA the judge would of say no to Nintendo since they didn't stop the company before they released their game. But on top of that the years that started the project should be noted on when it started, when they got their approval of the patent in a gaming department and so on so that the court will know the information on it and to ask the department that approve the patent paper on why they fail to notify the other companies that another company is using the same patent for their game. But anyway this is dumb lawsuit
either 2 things can happen either America goes all in with these patents then whats stopping movies from copy writing no one can have 3d pipes come out of the ground or throwing base balls
and is America known for its rational thinkers now a day letting medical systems work systems all these systems monopolize hurt and deregulate laws for short term gains at the cost of their respect
Imagine how many lives could of been saved and poor families helped with $100 million, instead this trash was made.. You can tell the way the devs acted after, this trash was their best work, and they should NEVER work on any video games again.. These scammers thought they could throw some generic bs together, market it right and "dumb gamers" will buy it... Hope everyone realizes now that we don't play, LITERALLY, and you can't sell us anything by telling us we're wrong and racist for not liking it. They are wrong and prejudice for the horrible slander they used on gamers for not wanting this obvious trash game.
I don't think gamers should ever feel bad or "wrong" for not wanting a game, a main part of our role as the audience is to be selective in what we want. For sure, ignore what doesn't appeal to you! I also agree that this game was generic. However, I can't really wrap my head around the idea that Sony or any company would have used their production budget for charity in lieu of making a game.
@@vigvillain They wouldn't, I was just saying in general. That money could of done soo many better things then build this straight to the trash can game you know? That's all I meant.
That dating game is for tween girls whose favorite movie is Beauty & The Beast. I thought about the issue with media way too much to the point where it is sometime discouraging to play. Good luck to all the devs out there that are not disillusioned. The industry was small, now it's too big. Maybe it's at saturation in the Western world. Not everyone games, reads books, magazine, or watches TV / film. They can't. This kind of touches on a video I made years ago about whether people living on a non-Earth planet (in some hopeful future) will even care about Mario.
Don't worry, the Nintendo eShop already has CRAZY stuff on there. I know Nintendo wants to have a wider appeal by accepting mature games onto their platforms, but there should be some moderation to prevent some random alarm clock app from getting into the eShop.
Thanks for watching! Like, subscribe, explain to me what the bell does, and send this video to your grandparents instead of giving them a call. They’ll appreciate it!
Hmm, you don't understand why, well let me just Google it here... one sec... and... oh o.O It appears the issue isn't the up-front cost, or the lackluster game play, or the weak storied vignette, or the live services, or any of the issues you mentioned... Who's gonna break it to him?
I don’t understand why what? This video is not just about why concord is likely to fail (which it is) it’s about not being able to understand Sony’s overall strategy with live service. Sorry if I didn’t communicate that well: still learning over here.
Haymar as a character seems very annoying, and stuck up. Idk something in the animation just leads me to believe instead of making a character who is serious, or stern they decided to just copy what they think stern looks like.
I'll grant them this is great animation, it's authentic... authentically unpleasant. It avoided the weird facial animations of Overwatch but with zero focus on what goal they were trying to achieve. This is a sign of lack of direction.
@@Treblaine I'm talking about the style of rendering. If you look at these characters side by side you'll see similarities and then realize other games look just like Overwatch. It's sort of this idea plaguing modern media that everything has to be similar to everything else so everyone can feel familiar with it and like it.
@@vvitch-mist20 Maybe if we knew the terms for the type of rendering you're talking about I could understand. But I'm looking at Condord's characters and they are like some AI abomination compared to OW's smexy pixar look. Though speaking of AI, the facial animation in OW shorts is like some AI slop, it's highly expressive and exaggerated but it clearly doesn't correspond to any sapient thought or feeling. It's completely soulless. It's running through a load of quirky expressions like a malfunctioning Terminator. Clearly the animators had high technical competence but had no idea how to do "face acting" in animation in terms of being tonally consistent.
Overwatch is only relevant because of the models being ripped and used for other purposes, so Concord was conceived as a game with all ugly characters and even worse controls/time to kill. Because if you take away the only thing keeping a game relevant, and then make the base functions even worse, of course it'll be a smash hit!
If Concord had done well on PS5, Sony would be spamming the heck out of it in press releases. But do you need to have a PSN+ subscription to play Concord? Fortnite, DAYZ, PUBG, Overwatch are all free to play on the PS5 without a paid subscription too!
