In fairness when we put Fyreslayers up in B I thought DoK should have been higher than them even with basing everything from these preview articles and the few rules/warscrolls we had seen since. They definitely have some really cool tricks available to them and the Shadowqueen is still as scary as ever. Are you looking forward to trying them in 4th?
I think you'r underestimating KO by a lot! They got more shennanigans they can do in 4.0 then ever before, jumping around and completly avoiding enemy charges in their turns if they wish and much more. But depend on points ofc. Their only drawback is lack of Manifestations where they now come free, but otherwise, dam I'm scaring of facing KO in 4.0. They can redeploy their boats or power through with their boats or retreat with their boats and when they do, bring all units around them with them, and can place them even further back if they wish. Example, You have an infantry screen 5" infront of your ship. Enemy moves outside 3" of your thunderers screen, you then redeploy with your ship 3", then you resetup your thunderers on the otherside of the ship, and you'r now 11"+ away from the enemy with the ship, heroes, units that wanted to charge you, and he can't even get on the objective since you preferbly stood at it prior, then next turn move up onto the objective again and blast away.
I def thought we put them too low, there's a bunch of armies with some really great stuff tho and I think we were both unsure enough of ko that we didn't wanna commit to higher! We'll have to follow up once theres some data out there
@@bleedingtreegaming I just feel like their army abilities are very weak or situational. They got a few good prayers but their save is so bad I'm afraid they won't last enough to make their control scores matter all that much, either way, cool vid! :D
You could be right, we definitely don't claim to be experts on this channel! The vid was just a bit of fun so I'm glad you enjoyed, even if we turn out to be miles off :)
@@bleedingtreegaming I just saw season of war new aos4 battle report with ogors vs idoneths and you might not be far off hahaha, either way ots early to say anything but I might have been too pessimistic
@binslagala haha just been watching that one myself. Had heard the Ironguts are meant to be pretty nasty, but almost single handedly wiping out the Deepkin army was insane.
A lot of the death factions watching battle reps of channels already with the full rules seem very strong hence my almost instant S's on them. I do hope seeing everything that Slaanesh has warscrolls wise I can enjoy playing them without a massive FAQ/Update needed to nerf that instant 12" charge roll to your opponent. Hedonites were the army that got me into AoS and I really don't want to have the feeling of leaving them to one side until rules changes happen. As I said though hopefully seeing everything I can find a way to make them work.
Welcome to the hobby! It's def not the cheapest possible option, but I think if you want to invest in something that's gonna give you perfect lighting with the minimum of fuss it's def worth looking into
Absolutely love your kitbash of this white scar. Best white scar kitbash I have seen. I’ll be watching the other white scar videos you have. For the Khargan and the Emperor. Magnificent work!!!
The chain sabers, from the upgrade kit, would look so cool on them, great vid. I've been recently painting my phobos strike team as WS, it's really hard to get the white armour right, but your scouts looks really nice so far!
Thanks! I did consider using one I had spare, but it looked just a little too hefty for the sergeant model for my tastes. I personally find multiple, thinned layers of Corax White to be the best white for the Scars.
cool customs but why the attitude in the title/thumbnail like this one look is what it "should be" or what they "actually" look like which sounds kinda adversarial and doesn't carry over to the tone of the actual video so ??? and you said you quite like this scout set even it doesn't specifically accommodate white scars, but like space marines are all on a spectrum of color/decal swap to super kitbashed and individualized which is cool to do!
Hey, thanks for commenting. Clickbaity titles aside, I was thinking more of the massive disparity between the tons of amazing artwork in the lore for White Scars, and what is available for them from the main 40k range. They fare better in 30k, but the extra price tag is obnoxious. It's the artwork that made me fall in love with the White Scars. The Scout kit is fantastic, as are their rules in 40k. It just requires a bit of extra work for Chapters like White Scars, Iron Hands, Salamanders etc. to get the most out of it.
Are you excited by the rules previews for FEC and Fyreslayers? We only have experience play against Fyreslayers. So if you play them we would love to hear your thoughts. We will be breaking down the Deepkin's faction focus as soon as possible and see what Warpfiend thinks about her army for the new edition. What army are you still waiting to see the rules for?
Oh believe me it does hurt it haha. You just find random games you've never heard of before, but know you cannot live without. I picked up this brilliant looking game where you play as various monsters/villains and have to try and eliminate each other wondering around Dracula's castle. The artwork just looked so good we could not turn away 😂
@@chrisgrainger83 I might be bringing it down the vine at some point. If you've ever seen the game Darkest Dungeon all the artwork in this is heavily based off it and just looks 👌
Cities are the next focus. Are we likely to continue an Order, Choas, Destruction and Death loop as long as they are able to? What army are you most looking for to seeing/playing 4th edition rules for? I cannot wait to see how the Hedonites play in the new edition.
I am pretty hyped to try out spearhead. I have younger sons who want to start playing. I think the scale and approachability will be perfect to get them started and see which armies they like
It does definitely seem like the best way to start AoS. The game board should fit nicely on any sort of dining or coffee table. The rules are all fairly simple, but also give you the building blocks of what the rules will be like for the full game. Also just needing 1 Spearhead box to buy to try out an army is a really nice/quick way to get into play games faster. I really hope you and your boys enjoy it.
We all had a brilliant time at Warhammer World on Saturday. A massive thank you to all the staff there for their excellent hospitality. I really cannot wait to see how some of my other armies will play in 4th edition. Currently building up some Deathrattle Skeletons for my wife's Soulblight Gravelords so she has everything she needs to play Spearhead with them. What armies do you all have/want to try in Spearhead?
I wish we had stayed and watched the reveals live at Bugman's with a bit of food, but sadly we had to head off home at that point. Looking forward to seeing the new detachments for Sisters. Hoping to be able to get back to painting some more of them soon.
The Skaven look fine, and I hope will be eventually available separately. I have never liked the Stormcast Eternals/Fantasy Space Marines, and these figures do not change my mind.
Always the risk with the vs box that you might only want or like the look of one of the armies. The Skaven stuff will likely have a full launch hopefully by the end or into next Year. There'll likely be someone selling off half of the box somewhere though.
Thanks! I'm really pleased with how it came out. Points-wise, I have 1,500 painted and ready to play, but I have another 2,000 to finish painting. My aim is to have a Demi Company of Veterans under the Terminator Khan, and the full 3rd Company under Kor'sarro Khan.
Less than 2 weeks to go until we get to try it all out! So excited. Looking at getting some Deathrattle Skeletons so we can use the Soulblight Spearhead force.
To be fair, the Space Marine range got a massive culling around the realease of 10th ed and their Codex, and will no doubt get another one before the next edition to make room for whatever new units they come up with for 11th ed. GW really need to focus on pushing other armies. That might might help mitigate the bloat around the Stormcast and Space Marines.
They are so cool! It'd be great if we got at least a better upgrade pack along the lines of the Black Templars or Dark Angels. Still the Heresy range is better for them. I have the Stormseer on my desk, ready for building after I paint this guy.
I always do the plasma coils before painting the rest of the weapon. Dry bushing over white, I find it much easier and quicker to get good gradients, with a nice end result, without needing to be neat. Though your method is more suitable for improving finer brush control skills.
