When she said, "two people wrote the song, but five guys went up on stage", I was floored. Yes, you acknowledge who wrote the song, but the entire band always goes on stage because the entire band recorded the song together. The two writers were not there because they chose the cheap way to go out. That's not the fault of the remaining band survivors. She needs to get over it.
Just bought a picture of the band with Joey Molland signature on it from Ebay..its not worth anything since Joey signs everything now, but, its something to remember them all together when they were young & happy. I ❤ this band.
I feel like they should have kept 'The Iveys'... The moment they changed the name things seemed to have gone wrong... Something is just off how pure talent was doomed... people coming into your life should accept you the way you are or it's a no.
So Ham basically did this to the band & signed even tho he was warn not to! No wonder he hung himself! All of these needless De*ths because HE signed the group!
I remember in school in Northern Ireland, this bands songs were so popular everyone loved them,I never knew their name or their story,it's heartbreaking what happened to them, they were so talented, that man polley has so much to answer for, never do wrong on anyone. 😢😇😇😇🙏🙏🙏
I agree! They most certainly deserve their place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. If it weren't for the evil and corrupt manager, Polley (sp?), they would have probably remained with Apple and had brilliantly productive musical careers. ❤❤❤❤❤
This documentary series is excellent, and I am just as grateful as saddened to see it. What I don’t understand is how the misdeeds of Stan Polley were pulled off. Were no legal actions ever brought against this despicable man? Did he do no time for his cruelty? It seems any court in the country would have been empathetic to these artists.
leaving your unborn child and letting your body be discovered by your pregnant wife is kind of selfish, sure he lost a lot of money but couldn't he have started over? polly was a bastard but thats no excuse
I met TOM after he played in a local night club in some version of Badfinger on a Sunday night. He was really drunk and almost panicked that the bar was closing early. We told him "Sorry about Pete". He replied "Tell me about it, I cut him down" My friend asked him if he'd sign an LP but he had to drive a short distance home to get it. Tom said " I'll be glad to-I'll wait right here and talk to your friend. Then he told me how they carefully set up the table for the cover of Wish You were but he drank so much waiting, he admitted "I SPEWED ALL OVER IT" Could that be true? or just goofy talk? Then my friend returned with the record and Tom signed it "10 years later and at least I'm alive"
Tragic story....every time I read about them, it breaks my heart. Incredible talent. So horrible how they were treated. Musically...they kicked ass. They ranked right up there with the best of them...the Stones, the Beatles, the Doors. Who knows how far they would have gone!
if joey and mike both declare that it was a pete and tom song for without you, and yes, they got the praise and that ...credit from ascap, it's still tom and pete's song. why the fans throw dirt on joey is saddening. badfinger was a great band and should be remembered as such without casting darts.
