JUST TRAINS!! Mostly Michigan based trains, with full documentation of the entire Great Lakes Central system including the Yuma leg, as well as most of the Lake State Railway system.
THANK YOU for checkin' out my stuff!!

This is a good look at the operations of LSRC in this area. Too bad the line terminates at the north end of Gaylord. The auto racks have arrived. Nice video Todd.👍🏻
i was on a road trip and idk where i was but i saw an LSRC SD70 leading and 2 auto racks on 304n but i didn't think they where going to Grayling but Huron Rail Productions posted a video today and they where for Grayling
@@kylercorbat3926 probably not for a long time. I spent 5 years documenting the entire GLC system, including the Yuma line. Though if they start shipping sand again with the three SD35’s, like they are rumored to, I might come back.
Wonder how long it will be before LSRC removes the rest of the original main track through Gaylord, as there appears to be no business on it. They have wanted to get rid of it for at least 5 to 8 years, but were told no by the state.
That was excellent again.👍 I really like your captions! 👍I am following this on the map of Michigan's railways. I downloaded this one from MDOT. ❤❤Thank you so much for your time and effort. I appreciate it very much! Andreas👨✈😇😇💥💥
@@andreasforster7757 Thank you for the feedback!! While there are still some scenes to document from that region, a Mackinaw Subdivision Volume 2 video is in production, complete with maps and mileposts along the route.
@@andreasforster7757 The A&L track is a 2.5 mile spur, or branch line, that comes off the main line in Gaylord. All of Gaylord business is on the short branch line. It gets its name from A&L Iron and Metal scrap yard located at the very end of the branch at mile 2.55.
That was another masterstroke. I really like the grayling station. I also really fell in love with Frederic and Otsego Lake, which we didn't see today. The drone flight from minute 9 onwards is also simply marvellous. ❤ Thank you dear Todd. Best regards from Andreas👨✈👍👍👍
@@andreasforster7757 Thank you!!! This is a fun operation to film. Stay tuned for more LSRC operations in Gaylord. The next video includes drone shots of a train working at Tri-State Forest Products, and another look at the Gaylord transload facility..
Excellent video Todd. Both trackside and drone views are great and it is interesting to see LSRC serving the industries around here including the particle board plant. Those scenes at Otsego Lake are real nice and a location thats rarely captured on film. The shot of the train arriving into Grayling was a nice one too with the I-75 and water tower in background. Well done 👍🏻
Your kind words are very much appreciated. Thank you! This area is so beautiful and easy to fall in love with. In fact, not long after I begin exploring operations in Grayling and Gaylord it became clear that I needed to model the region. Which I am happily beginning now. So, the task of gathering as much info and rolling stock roster photos as possible is under way. Thanks again for taking the time to watch & comment!! I have another chase video from up there coming this week.
Do they provide any Dinner TRAINS......Wouldn't it be cool to have dinner in a Dome Car while they Switch etc......HOW FUN ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😮😢🎉🎉🎉MANY GOD PRAYERS 😊😊😊😊
Be Interesting if the RAILWAYS hire those "CAR PAINTV BANDITS " AND HAVE THEM PAINT advertising for the Gravel Companies,The GRAIN SHIPPERS ETC.... 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤SOME OF THOSE PAINTERS ARE QUITE REMARKABLE...(SAD BUT TRUE)😅😮😢❤❤❤❤❤❤
Very nice video of the Gaylord turn! When does this job typically run? I’m gonna be in northern Michigan later this summer and would like to catch a Lake State train or two if I can! It appears to be late afternoon or early evening. Not sure on the day frequency though.
Thanks! They tend to go to Gaylord Tuesday and Thursday. I’d say be trackside in grayling between 3-5 and you’ll likely see it. The depot is a good place to hang out. Good luck!
Danke Andreas.
Thanks Miles!! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. Hopefully there will be a lot more coverage of operations up there throughout the summer.
Those are NFZ’s. 99% of “no trespassing” warnings are there for outsiders physical safety so they do not wander onto private property and get injured. It’s cheaper for a business to throw law enforcement and the courts at trespassers than to be sued by them. Though I am still very selective what I show the public when I’m filming the railroad, workers, and businesses served.
Thanks Mark! They sure do. Stay tuned, work is progressing on 2 more videos from up there with hopefully more after that. There’s still a good deal of areas I’d like to film on that portion of the mackinaw subdivision.😉
That is a small sensation. 💥💥💥I've been waiting for Grayling Tour for a long time. The last time I saw a complete ride was 6 years ago at DIB. This route has done it to me. Otsego Lake and Frederick. And others.😇😇 A lot has happened in Gaylord in recent years, infrastructure and much more. Does LSRC 1/0 also go to Gaylord? Your labelling is brilliant. In German this means, that was a treat.❤Thank in the friends from Andreas 👨✈👍👍👍
Thank you for the kind words Andreas! Expect more videos covering operations and trains in the Grayling and Gaylord areas. A friend and I just shot some beautiful, rarely seen operations footage.
Not at all, that I’m aware of. For all I intents and purposes, the A&L spur is the operational end of the line. In fact, the switch at the main is always locked & lined onto the A&L spur.
Thanks for the quick reply. I wonder why they didn't leave those 6 gons on that passing track under I-75, rather than take them all the way to Gaylord and back??
@@user-mr3ct1dm9p you’re welcome. They often set out the Stella Jones high side & bathtub gons in the siding near the grayling depot between the golf course and Au Sable River. I think it all depends on train lengths going north AND south if they take them north or drop them for later pick up in grayling. Setting them out in grayling is two extra moves so it makes more sense to take them along.
Nice! I chased train 304 last night and saw you posted the Gaylord run again yesterday. Had I known it was running I would've probably went for it instead. Been awhile since I saw 4325 lol.
They run regularly Tues & Thurs. On duty at 3:00pm at 4 Mile Rd. Power is kept south/east of the Xing beside SRM. Keep the scanner handy, sometimes they’ll go straight north, sometimes they’ll work the far end of the yard, sometimes they’ll set out the Stella Jones empties by the grayling depot. It varies. Typically go north between 3-5pm
@@toddfeldpausch9489 Thank you for the info, I take it everything north of Grayling is all 25mph? I thought in an old video I saw the Gaylord job could get up to 30-40mph but that was awhile ago so not sure if anything changed.
@@HuronRailProductions speeds are 20 mph from the west end of the yard to just north of Grayling where the tracks begin to parallel Old 27, then 25 mph to just south of the AL spur, and 10 mph on the spur.
Using wife's phone today not her opinions This is a really good video the way you followed the route covering the different locomotives rolling stock was good but the scenery along with it really makes it a lot better than just the railroad I would of loved to have been able to take a passenger train along this sub back in the days of when railroads ran about everywhere Michigan has the scenery I really miss it so it was nice seeing it in your video
Thanks! South of Flint the, specifically Holly, the catches get much more difficult considering the web of roads, traffic, and speed of the train. Glad you enjoyed the GB shot. I wanted to launch the drone but didn’t have time because I got distracted by a dog that was in desperate need of pettins’. 😂
Another great video Todd. Are we going to see the remainder of the trip to Wixom? I hadn't heard about the Holly depot being movrd and the diamond being redone. I'm assuming it's the LSRC portion of the diamond that will redone as the CN is a straight shot through Holly. Any idea when this all is slated to begin? Looking forward to your next video. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe out there.
Thank you!! Yes, the remainder of the Wixom trip will come eventually, but in multiple outtings. It’s difficult to get multiple shots down there given the speed of the train. Plus, I’d like a few more shots for the in-progress Saginaw Subdivision video. Thanks for taking the time!!
Thanks Steven! I appreciate it. I’m not sure about the Holly time frame, but the recently removed trees implies sooner rather than later for the depot relocation. As for for the diamond and track work, that’s anyone’s guess considering the pace at which most railroads do things.
Great video Todd. Looking forward to the trip to Wixom. Is it the same crew taking the trsin to Wixom? How soon after the arrival in Saginaw do they drpart for Wixom? Thanks for sharing. Stay safe out there!!
Thank you! Yes, same crew. They only made a 10 minute stop in Saginaw to cut those last three cars then highballed outta there. The Saginaw Sub luck is better, faster, and even has a couple drone shots. I’m still editing those in. Thanks for watching!
