I have used rubber stamps as you did initially & before filling with resin I poured in some silicone which gave me a lovely inlay to use. Got the idea from Wendy at toonpish craft.
A quick tip for attaching the broach backs, is to leave them until they are just tacky like you did after the 1st booboo and then pop them on the cack and add a thin layer of epoxy and then they will be embedded permanently. x

They look lovely. I think casein tortoiseshell is what you are looking for. It is made from milk protein to look like tortoiseshell, mostly used in things like high end guitar picks these days. (Or at least were I live)
I've just bought the resin-crete too but haven't used it yet, it does look amazing but far too expensive if you're going sell what you make so i've been having a look at similar ones. One that caught my attention was the Pebeo Gedeo Hard Plaster and it's only £6.80 for 1kg so I might get it and compare the 2. It has some really good reviews too and Pebeo is quite popular. Amazon seem to have it a lot cheaper than other places. Also going to shop about for the polyurethane one too, yours looks great
I love it all! You used a resin I'm not willing to try, the polyurethane resin (Fast Cure), because I'm so slow. Also the resincrete pieces turned out fantastic. I realize it is very expensive, but I do like using it for some larger molds. It can be painted once it's dried or you can buy tints that are designed to use with it so it won't be so pastel. I love your videos, keep doing what you're doing!!
They are just beautiful but I do understand the “it’s to expensive for me” bit as I’m on a pension and there’s times I’m doing nothing because I can’t afford to buy it, that’s crazy eh, maybe it’s time to look for a cheaper craft. 💕
