That standing timber reminds me of Gibson Co. Lake a little. Nice looking fishery. Ole Performance Fishing Electronics bout took my whole bank account yesterday, walked in and saw all kinds of goodies 😂 I live 2 minutes from it, and never stopped in till yesterday when I was next door getting my bow worked on. You're killing it with these videos homie 🤙🏼💯
Jake, I know you’re really good with that ffs. And we both know you can’t compete with conventional against a good ffs fisherman. We both know that the first cast on that fish on the screen and position are the two most important components. A traditional fisherman cannot compete anymore unless they are shallow and behind a bush. Let’s not kid ourselves on this matter 😊👍💯. And you know this all to well. My tournament days are probably over after what I’ve seen this year in tournaments. Until I get better at ffs there’s no reason to compete. Kinda like Zack Parker, if he ain’t on fish, he’s not wasting his money 😂😂
Hey there! It definitely gives us an advantage, no doubt. Depending on the lake and time of year though, conventional will always be a player, and sometimes be the more advantageous route! But yes, on a lake where FFS is a huge player, it’s definitely not easy to compete against someone who is good at using it! Happy fishing!
I agree. Those guys like yourself can just plain fish with or without ffs. Go out there and win one this year. I’m pulling for you and I will be at the first tournament so see you there.
So stupid you should be able to fish anyway you want to. I never watch fishing on TV if I got time to do that just hook up the boat and go. The whole thing is people getting their feelings hurt and they don’t want to put the time and effort to keep up with the times. I am 65 I love using it I am all about setting the hook 😂😂😂
Technology has taken the challenge out of fishing. This is relatively new technology compared to the time that some of the old-timer felt lucky to just have a depth finder or a surface temperature gauge in their boat. The art of locating and figuring out the bass has gone to the roadside of technology. Technology is not also good, it can sometimes make us lazy and complacent. Just the opinion of a guy that’s been bass fishing for over 4 decades. I miss the days where you really had to work at caughting a bag of fish😢 couldn’t just rely on technology.
I appreciate the comment and opinion! I do think technology has taken some of the guesswork out of fishing, but I don’t know about the “challenge.” It is still very complicated to figure out what bait, color, speed, technique, etc the bass want. It is a common misconception that just because there is a bass on the screen, that it is going to eat your bait. If that was the case, I think livescope very well may be totally banned. It still requires a tremendous amount of skill, it is just a different skill. It has someone got blown out though with people having 18 units on their boat. I think we do need to get back to more of the fishing side of things. But glad to hear you’ve been able to fish for 4 decades, keep after it!
I’m on Kentucky/Barkley lakes. I mainly fish Barkley, but I with someone would do a video of a map explaining what to look for. Every hump, finger or whatever, I can never can’t anything.
Jacob Wheeler has some good videos like that where he explains what baits he’d use given the particular time of year, and then what he looks for on the map. They are his “best baits of June.” Type videos
@@JakeLawrenceFishing I’m going to watch your ledge fishing 101. My cousin is Married to Troy Hollowell, Todd’s Bro in FLW. We went to Kentucky one day and absolutely smashed them. I try not to get in his holes but I just can’t figure it out. Even with hours of idling. I put him on my Barkley holes to get 5 fish about any time and then he runs to Kentucky for the biggins
