All the passes and other interesting roads I have ridden (and some driven). Although I have ridden many more passes than the videos I uploaded, some footage was not suitable to be uploaded.
Closing down a whole highway really is fucked up. What makes bikers better than other road users? I am a biker myself, but I still detest cunts that think they own the road. This behavior are more prevalent among Harley riders.
Thanks for the feedback @Cisco8501. There is to much wind noice to really hear the bike. Will try and leave off the music where the bike sounds are louder and less wind noice.
It took me 3 reads before I understood. Glad you like it. Hope it becomes a good memory of us meeting up. When in JHB area look me up. You got a place to stay if you need one. We are 5 mins from the airport.
Hi @virgilio1355, thanks for the question The start gps co-ordinates and end co-ordinates are in the description. What more info would make it better? Perhaps join me on this telegram channel and we can discuss what can make the description better in the future. t.me/SouthernAfricanPasses
The closest town is Patensie to the east. More detailed info here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vztbhgnexUU.html You can download the GPX file from here: data.dhc-mountainpasses.co.za/tracks/gpx/passes/[247]%20Langkop%20Pass.gpx
Thanks for this, I am planning a trip next month so this helps a lot. Can you tell me which road did you use to get to Thaba Tseka? I am thinking of Sani Pass up, then via Thaba Tseka to Katie dam but I see google maps is telling me around 6 hours
Hi Matthew. Yes we came from Maseru side. 2 Weeks ago we did Sani pass, but were advised not to go to Thaba-Tseka from Sanie side, as the road is very bad. I will try and contact you via FB and give more info.
From Sani border post follow A1 till you get to a T-Junction. Turn Left (47km). Ride till you get to a circle (28 km). Turn Left at the circle. Tar road turns into dirt road, keep left. Ride till you get to tar road (75km), then Left (23 km). Reach Katse dam. Give yourself 6 hours, and do it only when *good weather* (We got stuck in slippery clay for 4 hours on one hill) I have GPS track if that would help. And lots more info if you need.
Hi, I know this is on the N14 outside Kakamas as I've driven it a lot, but could you please put some more info in the description as it is sometimes difficult to determine where the pass is by just looking at the Google Earth fly-over. Tnx
Thanks for the comment. I will add the start and end GPS points to all future videos. When I am bored will go back and update the exising videos. I also have all the GPX files on my web site of all the passes and roads I have ridden on the motorbike (will soon add the car rides as well) www.dhc-mountainpasses.co.za/ridden
Next time you go up there you should visit the block house, just as you passed the peak of the pass there is a small road turning off to the left leading up to a lookout on the mountain and the remains of the block house. I also didn't know about it the first time I went up there, only went up to the block house after a friend told me about it...
Thanks. I have updated my camera to a Gopro Hero 9. Soon the footage will be a lot better. The first Gopro video will be released on 17 December - Breedsnek Pass.
