The last 8 months have been a whirlwind for Brummie Folk artist Katherine Priddy, who, having emerged onto the scene with her debut EP 'Wolf', has been quietly gaining attention. ‘Wolf’ has been championed by the BBC 2 Folk Show, BBC 6 Music’s Gideon Coe & BBC Wales as well as receiving exceptional reviews. Richard Thompson named it as his 'Best Thing I've Heard All Year' in MOJO Magazine whilst Folk Radio UK pronounced the release to be "something extraordinary indeed...one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard...it’s flawless". Having previously supported the likes of The Chieftains, Martin Carthy, Vashti Bunyan, John Smith and Scott Matthews, Katherine has recently completed a tour of Ireland with Richard Thompson, stepping out onto the imposing stages of Vicar Street, Ulster Hall & more. She was also awarded the Christian Raphael Award at this year's Cambridge Folk Festival. New album The Pendulum Swing out 16th Feb: KPriddy.lnk.to/ThePendulumSwing
My friend Ian turned me on to this music when he posted his attendance at your St Mary's church, Cottingham Folk Festival gig. LOVE IT! ~ Andrew in America
This song made me cry when Katherine played it at a festival recently. Fortunately my eyes were behind sunglasses but i pretended I'd got suncream in my eye for good measure. Think i got away with it.
I am loving the new album of which we are so lucky to have such a beautiful collection of songs on it. In this one I can feel a real connection to the music of Nick Drake of which is truly magical and so lovely to hear.
I have this song on repeat! I’ve never heard a song that perfectly captures the longing I have for a slower life. I hope you can tour the states one day and make it to Nebraska 🖤
I bounce between the Bert Jansch version, Anne Briggs and Sandy Denny’s version as well. This is such a fine interpretation sometimes it’s my favorite version.
Dude was born in the wrong era..his song writting and particularly his guitar work has had tremendous influence on me, too bad I only came across his music when I was in my 30s..apparently im not the only one...absolutely a shame he did not recieve proper recognition when he was alive!!
This is a truly beautiful composition of a wonderful song. Peaceful and melodic, with nice harmonies. Thanks to everyone involved for your talent and care in interpreting one of Nick Drake’s very best pieces
