I would think Snape would know if there was a possibility Harry was his. Harry was born July 31 1980, he was conceived in October 1979. Lily and Snape would have to have had an affair while she was married. IDK if Snape would have a relationship with her if she were still married.

Snape kept all the danger alone while the others kept talking how horrible he was in their opinion. Also, he lost Lily, which hurted him deeply. But he had to not show it to the people around him.
