Ahh you guys picked the old startup for the 360 that I haven't heard in an eternity. You didn't play the actual real current 360 startup sound. It threw me off so bad, I confused it with the PS2. The dang philips cdi was easier to figure out than that old 360 startup.
For my last quiz for a while, didn't do horribly. 11 stars and 7 coins, for 60%. Barely passing! Y'know what? As my last quiz for a while, I'll let that sit as a good representation of how I've done across all of these. Barely Passing. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0QtKDGtO51Q.html Thank you, very much, again, for allowing me to stream all of these as I do them. I look forward to doing more in the future.
Lucked out on the bonus question! 16 stars for 40%. I knew I was gonna fail, but at least I did better than anticipated. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0QtKDGtO51Q.html
Now that's a much better score! 17 stars and 12 coins! By my usual 4 coins equals 1 star criteria, that gives me a 100% score. Thank goodness for extra credit. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0QtKDGtO51Q.html
Failed miserably, but had fun doing so. 5 stars and 3 coins (could've been 4, but I forgot to say the name of the game) , so 25%. Miserable score, but a fun quiz. Would love more like it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0QtKDGtO51Q.html
Was really concerned that the only one I felt confident in wasn't going to make an appearance. But it did, bringing me up to...3 stars. 15%. Woo! Not the worst I've ever done, but gosh dang. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0QtKDGtO51Q.html
100%, because I played this game TO DEAtH as a kid and I've also replayed it a few times over the years since. That and I just have a freakishly good memory when it comes to sounds associated with cinematic moments.
Omg nr 12 hit me hard, I was so convinced it will be from Majoras Mask (song of wings?). But I disagree with Nr 15, actually both parts are from the original, the first part was the "spinning to death" sound from the original, which was adapted in ocarina of time
Hm that's interesting... we _hear_ them as different songs, but they share that same downward cadence, so maybe it was meant to be a nod. Either way, it sounds like you deserve the point!
I missed four, All-Stars, Alladin, Killer Instinct, and Star Fox. I've never played the first two, never got far in KI let alone up to Eyedol and only got to Andross once (and lost). Although I was so confident in Megaman X I didn't even look to see the reveal.
I like how imanaged to find some game just based on what instruments they used and style they approched. I had no knowledge of Okami, PoP or GoW title OST yet the music totally fits the era and country they are based on. For the final, I'd say it's a sport car games... That Synth in the background feels like I'm picking a car in Grand Turismo.
It's impressive that you were able to get those games right from just vibes! We can hear how the last one sounds like a racing game menu, but it's actually something quite different! Hopefully someone gets it soon 😊
Welp, I sure failed that test. XD I've never owned a PlayStation console in my life, and I only got five: San Andreas, Rise of Cortex, Kingdom Hearts, Okami, and Prince of Persia. As an aside, I just randomly had one of your tests come up in my recommendations a few days ago, and I'm totally into you guys now. I love video games and quizzes like it, but y'all using little 8-bit sprites and the like is so charming and really sets you above the rest. Y'all are easily the most underrated channel I've come across in years. You've got a new sub in me; keep up the awesome quizzes profs. :D
I gotta give game composers their due credit. It’s not something I often think about, but as a kid who had an OG Xbox and GameCube, and very little play time on the PS2, I should not be able to identify as many of these just by music alone. Really speaks to their ability to encapsulate the essence of a game into a short ten second musical segment.
10/21 I *had* a ps2 as a kid but didn't have too many games because poor. What i did have was mostly kid friendly which is why stuff Like FFX, Crash and Kingdom Hearts was easy, i also guessed both god of war games. But i had no idea about like. Ghost Recon or Hitman for example.
Ooo this is fun. Answers as I go: 1. Starting off easy! Bob-omb Battlefield, Super Mario 64! (Total: 1S1C) 2. Ooo I can tell this is Mario Kart but I haven't played one since Double Dash. This could be Wii, or 8 based on the audio quality, so flip a coin and say Mario Kart Wii. ....Welp. (Total: 1S1C) 3. Yoshi's Island 1, Super Mario World. Iconic. (Total: 2S2C) 4. Petal Meadows, Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door. One of my all time favorite games! (Total: 3S3C) 5. This is Super Mario Bros. Wonder. I don't know if the level had a name or if was just 1-1 though... (Total: 4S3C) 6. Super Mario Bros. 2, World 1-1. (Total: 5S4C) 7. Huh. This is an unusual track. It's probably from a Mario Party game but I can't place it at all. Was this Mario Party 6? It was not. (Total: 5S4C) 8. This is my favorite track in all of Mario. Hand's down. I will not be taking questions at this time. Super Mario Galaxy, Good Egg Galaxy. (Total: 6S5C) 9. Okay I know this style is 3D Land or 3D World. I know almost nothing about these games besides that so it's another coin flip. 3D Land? Aw Dangit. (Total: 6S5C) 10. ....What even is this? Huh? This does sound like Mario but it doesn't sound like anything that would be "first level" music. (Total: 6S5C) 11. This sounds familiar... The style makes me think of Luigi's Mansion before anything else but there isn't much exploration music in that game at all. .....Oh how did I forget about this level! (Total: 6S5C) 12. Good old New Sup motif. I can tell my the chiptune style that this is the original New Super Mario Bros. World 1-1. (Total: 7S6C) 13. Ah, a Mario Kart I've played. Mario Kart 64, Luigi Circuit. ...Raceway, Circuit, whatever I'm counting it :P (Total: 8S7C) 14. Oh come on. It'll be World 1-1 Super Mario All-Stars version but which actual game are you asking for here because it's used twice in that collection. Super Mario Bros. because that's the first game in the collection? Lost Levels because All-Stars was the first release of that game overseas? You know what, I'm just gonna take the point anyway. (Total: 9S8C) 15. Oh free coin! I wouldn't have known since I only know this track from fan medleys anyway. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. (Total: 10S9C) 16. Once again, I must cede to not knowing much Mario Party. This feels like it would fit for Shy Guy's Jungle Adventure in MP1, or Mystery Land in MP2, but neither of those qualify as first levels. Also the audio quality is kind of high for N64. (Total: 10S9C) 17. Okay if the other one was 3D World then this is 3D Land. The style is too similar to not be related. I'll just say World 1-1 since I don't know any better. (Total: 11S10C) 18. Oh my nostalgia. Mushroom Way, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (Total: 12S11C) 19. World 1-1, Super Mario Bros. 3. Probably my favorite 2D entry. (Total: 13S12C) 20. Wait this sounds familiar bu- OH Super Paper Mario! I... don't remember anything about the first few chapters of this game besides the nerd lizard. (Total: 14S12C) 21. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Such a cozy soundtrack for such a surprisingly difficult game by Mario standards. I believe the stage was called "Make Eggs, Throw Eggs"? (Total: 15S13C) 22. I'm sorry I feel like this could be anything and also nothing xD. It doesn't sound like it fits any of the styles I know from Mario. (Total: 15S13C) 23. Bianco Hills. Super Mario Sunshine. Not much to say here. (Total: 16S14C) 24. That's Mario Party's style, and the wintry theming gives it away to me. Chilly Waters from Mario Party 3! (Total: 17S15C) 25. That bombastic orchestra can only be Galaxy. We already had Galaxy 1 so clearly this must be Super Mario Galaxy 2. I couldn't tell you the names of nearly any of the levels in this game though... (Total: 18S15C) 26. I can tell by the style that this is Mario & Luigi, but the only ones of those I'm familiar with are Superstar Saga and Inside Story, and this is neither (I feel like a "first path" for BiS is kind of hard to define with the way the game is structured anyway) (Total: 18S15C) 27. Well that's the good old New Sup motif. And the quality is high enough that it's probably one of the console ones, but is there even a difference between Wii and U's tracks? I don't even know. This is another coin flip so I'm gonna go with World 1-1 New Super Mario Bros. U. Eyy I had to win the 50/50 at some point. (Total: 19S15C) 28. Oh oh oh! This sounds like Sakuraba's styling which means we're looking at one of the Tennis or Golf games. It's kind of a laid back track by Camelot sports game standards which leads me to think it's Golf. Audio quality is too high to be N64 so I'm gonna say Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour. (Total: 20S15C) 29. Also only know this one from fan medleys! But it's World 1-1. Super Mario Land. (Total: 21S16C) 30. This sounds like... It's Mario Kart for sure but it sounds weird. It's either Wii or 7... and it sounds too distant from 8's style to likely be 7, so I'm firing the Mario Kart Wii guess once more. Woohoo! (Total: 22S16C) 31. ....What? FINAL SCORE: 22 Stars 16 Coins. Just barely eeked over the 70%. Fake fan clearly. /s
Y'all just a bunch of show-offs. It's sad that most people think that they are only worthy if they perform good enough. As if they have to prove themselves to be allowed to be there at all 😐
Who actually posts their score in the comments? 😂 "So I PERSONALLY got all the coins and all the stars. Wasn't even difficult for me although I don't play video games at all and am deaf"
stars 19 bonus coins 16 the ones i had wrong the third i said the wrong track and the 12th one i knew the track but couldn't get on the name in time 13th forgot this tracke excited but knew in what it was 16th thougt it was double dash not to bad
The video: -begins playing Zelda's icon theme- Me, flinging my finger at the screen: "A LINK TO THE PAST AND IF YOU SAY OCARINA OF TIME YOU'RE L Y I N G" (14/20)
I got 4 stars and 4 coins! I have not played either of the Let's Go games (I'd like to) but I sure could recognize Lavender Town when I heard it. Also, was freaking excited to hear Stow-on-Side. That is, hands down, my favorite theme in the game.
For having never owned the WiiU or played the games (except the ones that ported to Switch) I somehow got 7/20. That gives me 228 Stars and 42 Coins across your videos up to this point
