They were a people who sat around campfires and tortured their foes for social amusement , much like settlers held square dances. Much evil was done to them , much evil they did in return. They were no more free of blame than the other tribes they warred with or the Mexicans and Anglo's . The Apache conquered and enslaved many, in the end they were over matched by the Comanche and later the Mexican and US governments.
