Hey man, I go karting at GRGP all the time! I average in the 27.2s, best time is a 27.165. I'll try to explain where you can be faster the best I can :) Contrary to what the other guy was saying, at GRGP you almost never use the brakes haha. I learned that from booster seat joe (the #1 driver at GRGP who's in the 26.4s) 1) When going up the ramp, stay wide and then kick the back out and just steer with the throttle so your kart is basically aimed right between the two apexes on top. You had to do a bit of extra turning at the end to straighten yourself out to go wide for the hairpin, and you can avoid this by going wider and getting a better exit 2) You did great on the hairpin. However you can take the entire sector by the pits full throttle. Just lean right when turning left at the first turn after the hairpin, this helps you turn sharper. Tap the apex and go wide just like you did in the vid, but you could still get a little closer to the apex when you exit onto the main straight 3) After the main straight, you take your foot off the gas a few times. I do the same sliding motion as you, but I start it a little earlier and keep full throttle the whole way through, because accelerating up the ramp at max speed is super important, so the faster you get there the better. My foot is fully pressed the entire lap except for the hairpin. Your lines however look great and you're quite fast! If you need any more help or want to meet up and race sometime, my discord is @_._lucas_._ Cheers man :)
How do you like your 450? I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on one, I ride a 250 and have been for a while now but everyone says "450 is too much power, it aint worth it unless you are racing" What's your thoughts on it? Anyways awesome video dude, keep shreddin' and stay safe.
I've been riding a 450 for about 10 years now. For me, I like having some extra power at my disposal in case I get into some trouble I can pull back out of it. I know the new 24 Kawasaki has been coined as "slow" but to me that means the power is useable. I also find it a little easier to ride if you can carry your momentum right. Just put it in 3rd and lug around. If you have buddies with a 450, talk them into letting you ride it to see what you think before spending a shit load of money. 🤙🏼
thanks man! I definitely had that win if I would have switched up a couple of lines sooner, and ran the inside right before the whoops. But oh well. Moto 2 I didn't have the energy and had a front row seat to another battle. That vid is going up tomorrow!
How do the fork tubes rotate inside the triple clamps if only the bottom pinch bolts are loosened? Why isn't it necessary to loosen the top triple clamp pinch bolts?
Your fast. Lines look great. My only tip would be to use brakes more to get the car to rotate earlier on sharp turns. You're losing time on those slides.
